PROSPECT — Rosemary V. DeLucia, 83, of Prospect, widow of Anthony DeLucia, passed away on Wednesday, March 8, 2023, at Midstate Medical Center.

Rosemary was born on Sept. 20, 1939 in Waterbury, one of seven children of the late Raymond Davis and Agnes (Brennan). She graduated from Watertown High School.

She worked for many years as an aide for VNA Healthcare.

Rosemary enjoyed spending time with her family, doing jigsaw puzzles, gardening, reading, and playing solitaire. Rosie was an incredibly kind, caring, and giving person, and never seemed to have a complaint or a bad thing to say about anybody. Her family was the light of her life and Rosie’s love for cooking brought her big family together.

Whether it was eggplant Parmesan or French toast on Sundays, her home was warm and inviting, bustling with her six children, their friends, and any other chosen family who would always come by for a meal.

She was truly like a mother to all.

Left to cherish Rosie’s memory are her six children, Scott DeLucia and his significant other Pamela Troland of Waterbury, Cynthia Petro and her husband Steven of Prospect, Joe DeLucia and significant other Janice Orsi of Prospect, Steven DeLucia and his significant other Darlene Testa of Prospect, Christopher DeLucia and his wife Ilene of Watertown, and Joan DeLucia of Prospect; her sister Irene Zappone of Michigan; as well as 12 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and many dear friends.

In addition to her husband and parents, Rosie was predeceased by her three brothers, Raymond, Robert, and William Davis; two sisters, Patricia Tata and Nancy Mordenti; and her niece Kathy Maringola.
