Monique C. Dorantes-Taylor

NAUGATUCK — A 47-year-old Naugatuck woman is facing charges after police say she stabbed a man with a kitchen knife during a domestic dispute in early March.

Police learned of the stabbing after the man was taken to the emergency room at Saint Mary’s Hospital in Waterbury on March 7. Police said the man was stabbed once in the chest during a domestic dispute with Monique C. Dorantes-Taylor at a home on Walnut Street.

The man suffered non-life threatening injuries and has since recovered, police said.

Dorantes-Taylor turned herself on an arrest warrant March 30 in connection with the stabbing. Police charged her with first-degree reckless endangerment, first-degree assault and disorderly conduct.

Dorantes-Taylor was released on a $75,000 bond after appearing in Waterbury Superior Court March 31. She’s scheduled to appear in court again on May 29.

  1. It is very concerning that reporters do not have accurate information. Therefore, they print and post pictures in order to get people to read $$$$$ Meanwhile this is called slander. Sadly this world just cares about money.

Why don’t they follow up with cases as such? Because they want the public to judge based off of whatever they want the public to believe.

Fact: NOT GUILTY! I can’t change the world’s way of thinking that whatever is written is true but it does feel good to start here.

What if this happened to you or your loved one, false accusations.

  2. It is always concerning to hear about incidents of violence, especially when they occur in our own communities. The recent stabbing in Naugatuck is a stark reminder of how domestic disputes can escalate quickly and result in serious harm. It is fortunate that the victim in this case was able to recover from his injuries.

It is important for law enforcement to take these incidents seriously and hold those responsible accountable for their actions. The fact that the suspect in this case turned herself in is a positive step towards justice being served.

Hopefully, this incident will serve as a wake-up call to those who may be struggling with domestic issues or conflicts. There are resources available to help, including counseling services and support groups. It is always better to seek help before a situation turns violent.

We must continue to work together as a community to prevent incidents of violence and promote a safe and healthy environment for all.
