Obituary: Patrick M. Chianese


PROSPECT — Patrick M. Chianese, 94, passed away Sunday, Jan.29, 2012.

Mr. Chianese was born on May 7, 1917 in Waterbury a son of the late Antonio Chianese and Rose (Nigro) Chianese. He attended Maloney Grammar School and Crosby High School in Waterbury and he graduated from a university in Indiana and earned a degree in engineering. He was retired from Hallden Manufacturing Company where he worked as a draftsman for many years. He was a member of Grace Christian Fellowship in Newtown and enjoyed raising canaries and chinchillas.

He is survived by three nieces, Rosemary Purdy and her husband Larry of Cheshire, Annette Lusas with whom he lived with and her husband Alan of Prospect and June Detlefsen and her husband Dean of Bethlehem; one nephew, Anthony Chianese and his wife Debbie of Bethlehem. He is also survived by six great nieces and nephews and a great-great niece.

He was predeceased by his brother, Ralph Chianese.

Funeral services and burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours and the Buckmiller Brothers Funeral Home, 26 Waterbury Road, Route 69, Prospect is in charge of arrangement.
