Elizabeth Ehrhardt (Noble) Richards

NAUGATUCK — Elizabeth “Betty” Ehrhardt (Noble) Richards, 99, formerly of Waterbury, passed away peacefully Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2018 at Waterbury Hospital after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Laurel Richards Sr.

Mrs. Richards was born June 14, 1918 in Waterbury, the daughter of the late Frederick O. and Florence (Hodson) Ehrhardt.

She was raised in Waterbury where she graduated from Wilby High School, Class of 1938. She was an active member of Christ Episcopal Church and the Ladies Guild for many years, a life member of the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary Post 7790 in the Brooklyn section of Waterbury and a longtime member of The Family Affair Bowling League. She was an admission officer for Waterbury Hospital until her retirement in 1983 after almost 40 years of service and was a member of the Waterbury Hospital Evergreen Club

Mrs. Richards is survived by her children, Linda Lawson and her husband, Donald, of Naugatuck where she resided for the last 14 years, Jon Noble and his wife, Theresa, of Waterbury and Laurel Richards Jr. and his wife, Beulah, of Fort Meade, Fla.; grandchildren, Jennifer (Glenn) Dietlin, Donald C. Lawson III, Amy (Carl) Patten, Mary Ellen Noble, Wayne (Michelle) Richards, Zina (Kevin) Black; many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her siblings, Frederick O. Ehrhardt, Jr. and F. Shirley Lund.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, Jan. 15, 2018, 10:15 a.m. from the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Waterbury, 496 Chase Ave., to Christ Episcopal Church for 11 a.m. Burial will follow in New Pine Grove Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
