Baseball camp for future Greyhounds

NAUGATUCK — The Future Greyhounds Baseball Camp will be held July 16 through July 20, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., at Naugatuck High School.

Naugatuck High assistant baseball coach Ben Schwartz is directing the camp, which is designed for boys and girls ages 5 through 14 of all skill levels. Area high school coaches along with current and former college baseball players will be on staff.

The cost of the camp is $140, which includes two reserved seat tickets for the New Britain Rock Cats game July 23 versus the Binghamton Mets at Beehive Stadium in New Britain. The camper of the week will get to throw out the first pitch at the game. Discounts are available for families of three or more and lunch will be available daily for purchase.

Woodland hosting football skills camp

BEACON FALLS — The Youth Hawks Football Camp will be held at Woodland Regional High School July 16 through July 19, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Greyhounds hosting softball camp

NAUGATUCK — The Naugatuck High softball team will be hosting its annual summer camp at Naugatuck High School July 16 to 20 and July 30 to Aug. 3.

The camp will focus on fielding, catching, throwing, pitching, running, hitting, special situations, and conditioning, and sessions will be instructed by NHS coaches and players. Students entering grades first though tenth are eligible to participate. Morning and afternoon sessions will be held.

NYS holding soccer camp

NAUGATUCK — Naugatuck Youth Soccer is hosting Summer Soccer Camps the week of July 23 through July 27.

The summer camps will be held at Naugatuck High School, 543 Rubber Ave. The fee for the camp is $65 for U5/6 and $100 for U7 to U14. The U5/6 camp will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. The U7 to U14 camp will be held from 6 to 8:30 p.m.

Swim clinics to be held at Woodland

BEACON FALLS — Two week-long swim clinics will be held in August.

The clinics will be held Aug. 13 through 17 and Aug. 20 through 24 at Woodland Regional High School, 135 Back Rimmon Road, Beacon Falls. The clinics will run from 5 to 7:30 p.m.

The clinics are for competitive swimmers entering grades nine through 12 and focus on stroke technique, speed drills and conditioning.

The price is $100 per week for Beacon Falls and Prospect residents and $150 per week for non-residents. A family discount of $25 for 2 swimmers or more is available and a $25 discount is available for non-residents who sign up for both weeks.
