High school football on the air

With both Woodland and Naugatuck competing for the NVL Copper Division championship and spots in the postseason, the two local squads’ Week 9 games will be broadcast live on 1320 WATR and watr.com.

The Greyhounds visit Municipal Stadium on Thursday to face Holy Cross at 6 p.m. in a game that Naugy needs to stay alive in both races. That contest will also be rebroadcast on CPTV Sports on Nov. 13 at 8 p.m.

The Hawks will host Torrington on Friday at 6:30 p.m. in a chance to rebound from their first loss. Woodland’s game will also be its annual Veterans Night contest, at which the Hawks will honor United States veterans. All veterans can enter free with proof of service, and the team will be selling camouflage Hawks hats. All proceeds will benefit the Fisher House.

Kyle Brennan, Steve Gesseck and Bob Sagendorf go live with their broadcasts 10 minutes prior to kickoff of each game.
