YMCA holding registration for men’s basketball league

NAUGATUCK — The Naugatuck YMCA is accepting registration for its men’s four-on-four basketball league.

The season starts Dec. 11. Games are played on Sundays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and the season runs through March. The deadline to register is Nov. 30. Payment is due at time of registration. Roster forms are available online at www.naugatuckymca.org or at the YMCA, 284 Church St.

Piccirillo earns GNAC honors in soccer

NEW HAVEN — Albertus Magnus College senior soccer player Angelina Piccirillo of Naugatuck earned All-Great Northeast Athletic Conference honors.

Piccirillo was named to the second team. Piccirillo earned all-conference accolades for the third time. She earned first team honors as a junior and landed on second team as a freshman.

Registration open for boxing program

NAUGATUCK — The Naugatuck YMCA’s Joe Triano/Joe Rossi Golden Gloves Youth Boxing Program starts Dec. 6.

The program, which is open to boys and girls ages 5 to 13, is designed to teach children the fundamentals of boxing. The program runs every Wednesday from 5 to 6 p.m. and concludes with the annual boxing tournament in April. Participants are asked to bring their own mouthpiece.
