NHS volleyball announces tryouts
NAUGATUCK — Tryouts for the Naugatuck High School volleyball team are Aug. 27-29 at the high school, 543 Rubber Ave.
Tryouts for freshmen are from 8 to 11 a.m. Tryouts for all returning players are from 8 to 11 a.m. and 12 to 2 p.m. Players are asked to report 15 minutes early with all required paperwork completed. For more information, email coach Kevin Wesche at coachwesche@gmail.com.
Union City holding final sign-ups for fall season
NAUGATUCK — This weekend is the final chance for players to sign up for Union City Little League fall baseball and Naugatuck fall softball for the 2015 season.
Registration is Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Union City Clubhouse on Morris Street. The registration fee is $75.
Players that live east of the Naugatuck River within the borders of Naugatuck and the South End of Waterbury are eligible to play baseball. Girls that reside anywhere in Naugatuck can sign up for softball.
