Mo’s Moments

Still leading the way

Notre Dame of Fairfield junior Sara Macary, a Naugatuck resident and former two-time All-NVL player, has provided a spark for her new team. Macary knocked down 21 points for the Lancers in a 78-46 win over previously unbeaten Kolbe Cathedral on Feb. 23

New kid on the block

Woodland freshman Casey Mulligan is quickly becoming a force to be reckoned with. After starting the season with back-to-back, 12-point games, Mulligan blistered the nets for 23 points in a 61-58 loss to Seymour on Feb. 24.

The hot hand

Naugatuck junior Ese Onakpoma has the hot hand early on for the Greyhounds. Onakpoma knocked down 28 points in a 70-63 loss to St. Paul on Feb. 20 and followed that up with a 24-point performance in a 75-38 win over Wolcott on Feb. 23.

Game-winner

Naugatuck junior Kaylee Jackson saved the best for last Feb. 23 at Wolcott. Jackson stole the ball with time running out and, after a timeout, buried a 3-pointer to give Naugy a 38-36 win.

Career-high

Woodland senior Joe Giuliani helped the Hawks to back-to-back wins with a career-high 20 points in a 62-42 win over Oxford on Feb. 20 and 16 points in a 70-52 win over Torrington on Feb. 23.
