Naugatuck senior receiver Jalen Datil made the most of his chances scoring three touchdowns of 54, 45 and 71 yards on four catches and totaled 189 yards in the Greyhounds 39-0 win over Woodland Sept. 30 in George Pinho Trophy game.

Naugatuck senior Emma Healy helped the Greyhounds battle back from a 2-0 deficit with 16 service points and four aces as Naugatuck pulled out a 3-2 win over St. Paul Sept. 30.

Cross Country

The boys remained perfect and stand at 11-0 after beating Derby (15-50), Wolcott (15-49) and St. Paul (15-49) in a quad meet Tuesday at Hop Brook Park in Middlebury. Graden Beasley led the way for Naugatuck and finished second in 17:22. David Kerns (18:07), Ross Via (18:27), Luis Garces (18:33), Elliot Via (18:36), Brandon Thomas (18:46) and Joe Dempsey (19:44) all finished in the top ten for Naugatuck. The girls dropped to 6-5 on the year after falling to Derby (17-42), St. Paul (28-29) and Wolcott (27-28). Lauren Stankiewicz (22:36) and Abigal Lombardi (22:41) finished in the top ten. Naugatuck will host Torrington, Watertown and Waterbury Career Oct. 11.

Cross Country

The boys improved to 9-2 with wins over Watertown (27-29) and Oxford (18-45) on Tuesday in Beacon Falls. Matt Luxder won the meet in 17:32. Vin Costanzo (17:34), Kyle Crowell (18:30), Wes Stein (18:31) and Greg Aldrich (18:41) finished in the top ten.  The girls ran past Oxford (15-50) but fell to Watertown (20-35). Emma Slavin won the meet in 21:02. Jill Brotherton (22:26), Jess Fox (23:34) and Meredith Dychman (24:00) finished in the top ten for the Hawks (10-1). Woodland will host Holy Cross, Derby and Sacred Heart Oct. 11.
