No. 2 Naugatuck will face No. 3 Torrington in the NVL tournament semifinals. The game is scheduled for Thursday at 7:30 p.m. at Wolcott High with the final set for Saturday at 4 p.m. at Municipal Stadium. The state tournaments, which will include both Naugatuck and Woodland, will start Nov. 8
Girls Soccer
No. 1 Woodland will put its unbeaten NVL record on the line against No. 4 Naugatuck in the NVL tournament semifinals. The game is scheduled for Thursday at 5:30 p.m. at Wolcott High with the final set for Saturday at 2 p.m. at Municipal Stadium. The state tournaments will begin Nov. 9. (The Hawks could gain a bye to Nov. 12’s second round).
Volleyball
No. 2 Woodland will play a rubber match against No. 3 Seymour in the NVL tournament semifinals. The match is scheduled for Thursday at 5 p.m. at Wilby High with the final set for Friday at 7 p.m. at Kennedy High. The Class M state tournament, which includes Woodland, is set to begin Nov. 8. The Hawks could receive a bye to the second round, which is set to begin Nov. 10.
Swimming
The NVL championship swimming and diving meets will all be at Kennedy High. The swimming trials are set for Thursday at 4 p.m. Diving finals will be Friday at 4 p.m. before Saturday’s swim finals at 4 p.m. The state meets could spare any postponement. Naugatuck, competing in Class L, will have its diving finals Nov. 8, swim trials Nov. 10 and swim finals Nov. 14. Woodland, in Class S, will compete in diving finals Nov. 9, swim trials Nov. 10 and swim finals Nov. 13.
