Tennis
The Naugatuck boys’ tennis team is still winless and the girls’ squad suffered its first loss of the season last Wednesday, 4-3, to St. Paul. The boys dropped matches to Crosby and Sacred Heart last week, while the girls rebounded after their loss to the Falcons to defeat Crosby and Sacred Heart. The boys gained a pair of doubles victories over Crosby, as the teams of Jake Burrell-Corey Andrew and John Dana-Lain Burger earned Naugy’s points in a 7-2 loss. Burrell and Burger also gained singles victories in Monday’s 6-3 loss to Sacred Heart. Burger teamed with Randy Kostka to win another doubles match Monday. The girls (12-1) received strong performances by number-one singles player Meghan Toth and Miranda Jang, who both won matches against Crosby and Sacred Heart, as well as Sarah Yacavone, Kaitlin Carter and several doubles teams. Both squads enter the final week of the regular season before the NVL tournament.

Track and Field
Both of the Naugatuck track and field squads finished perfect, 12-0 regular seasons Tuesday with dual-meet wins over Wilby. The boys earned a 130-14 victory over the Wildcats while the girls took an easy 120-20 win. Top finishers for the boys included the 4-by-400 relay team, Joe Reddington, Maud Hrezi, Santiago Cora, Donato Piroscafo, Nick Moriello, and Jamaal Gee. Results were not available for the girls’ meet. The Hounds will take time off before May 25’s NVL championships at Woodland, at which both borough squads will be favorited.

Golf
The Greyhounds lost their only meet of the week Monday to Holy Cross by the final tally of 160-187. Tim Fleck was the low scorer for Naugy, carding a 42. Following him were Mike Leona with a 47, Aaron Johnson with a 48, and Anthony Orsini with a 50. The Hounds will take on Wolcott, Watertown, and Crosby this week before the NVL tournament May 26.
