Naugy is looking to take the next step and make a long run in the postseason. After getting knocked out of the NVL tournament in the quarterfinal round the past two seasons, Iannotti and company are looking to push even further this year, and beyond the second round of the Class LL state tournament.
“We did graduate an All-State player and No. 1 pitcher in Blake Stone and our four-year catcher Mike Deitelbaum,” Iannotti said. “Those are two big spots to fill in the lineup. But I’m excited with what we have coming back. Andrew is an All-NVL pitcher and Alex is an All-Division clutch hitter.
“But beyond that we have playmakers in Kevin Cestari, Damon Abate and Dylan Sepulveda, along with others. I like the potential of this team. We are certainly looking to take the next step and become a contender.”
