Naugatuck defeated Cheshire 7-6 on Aug. 3 at Municipal Stadium in Waterbury to win back-to-back Joan Joyce softball league championships. Players on the team are Alessandra DiMaria, Lianne Wallace, Shannon Hale, Theresa Marcylenas, Tori Hendricks, Sam Bombardier, Carli Pelliccia, Shelby Hale, tournament MVP Gillian Fortier, Jess Aronin, Sydney Cotto, and Kim Tirita. The team is managed by Rick Pelliccia, along with coaches Scott Fortier and Leigh Aronin.
