BEACON FALLS — Since some early-season ups and downs, the Woodland volleyball team has been firing on all cylinders as the regular season enters the home stretch.

Following a 3-2 loss to defending Naugatuck Valley League champion Seymour on Sept. 25, Woodland reeled off six consecutive wins — including five straight sweeps — to improve to 11-3.

The Hawks’ offensive production continued to come from all over the floor. Steph Krebbs has been the leader of the attack game, registering 38 kills and seven aces over a three-match stretch that saw Woodland shut out Wilby, Wolcott, and Waterbury Career. Alyssa Lukeski, who has established herself as a strong second option in the offense, added 15 kills and six aces during the matches against the Wildcats and Eagles.

Setter Fatima Khalid tallied 67 assists over the three-match stretch. Other offensive contributors included Lexi Chabot, Sydney Harrison, Liz Triana, Layne Cronin, Kate Sirowich, May Dawes, and Elayna Beutel.

Woodland coach Jim Amato didn’t return a message seeking comment.

Woodland will look to continue its winning ways Tuesday vs. Oxford. The Hawks will visit Naugatuck on Thursday and host Ansonia on Friday before two challenges to close the regular season: at Seymour on Oct. 22 and vs. East Haven on Oct. 24.

The NVL tournament begins Oct. 27.
