The scoreboard operators were busy Oct. 30 in Naugatuck and Beacon Falls.
Naugatuck put the Crosby defense on notice early — real early.
C.J. Wall took a reverse pitch 56 yards to the house on the first play of the game for the Greyhounds. The Greyhounds didn’t look back en route to a 54-12 win over the Bulldogs.
Jason Bradley completed 11 of 19 passes for 251 yards and four touchdowns for Naugatuck (6-1). Wall, Jalen Datil, Bryan Coney and Chris Quarles each caught touchdowns.
The Greyhounds defense got into the act as well returning two Crosby (3-4) fumbles for touchdowns. Aaron Yourison scooped a fumble and scored from 34 yards out and Coney took a fumble 4 yards for a touchdown.
Tyler Dietelbaum capped the scoring with a 17-yard touchdown run.
Woodland also reached the half century mark on the scoreboard as the Hawks beat Wilby 50-14.
Mike Kenney tossed touchdown passes to Pat Hale of 50 and 25 yards in the win over the Wildcats (0-7).
Kenney also had a 1-yard touchdown run while Sean McAllen scored on runs of 2 and 35 yards. Guy Massimo caught a 62-yard touchdown pass from Quincy Koch for the Hawks’ longest play from scrimmage all year and Dave Bobbie scored on a 7-yard touchdown run for Woodland (3-4).
The Hawks host Ansonia Friday at 6:30 p.m., while Naugy will head on the road to take on Derby for a 7 p.m. kickoff.
