BEACON FALLS — The young Woodland boys team swim hasn’t missed a stroke so far this season.
Through their first three Naugatuck Valley League meets of the season, the Hawks were a perfect 3-0. That mark included recent wins over Torrington and Seymour.
Sophomore Jake Arisian has been a shark during the first half of the season, turning in a pair of school-record-setting performances. His most recent such effort came during the 500 freestyle against Torrington, where he swam a time of 5:04.10 to set the school mark.
Arisian has put together the rare combination of victories in the long-distance and the sprints. During the win over the Red Raiders, he added a win in the 50 freestyle in 23.47 seconds.
He’s also powered some of the Hawks’ relay teams. He helped the 200 medley relay team to victories in the meets against Torrington and Seymour, teaming with a combination of Zac Bertrand, Noah Scott, Ryan Curtin and Patrick Zieba in those meets.
Aiden Kennedy (200 freestyle) won his event in both of those recent meets. Scott (100 freestyle, 100 butterfly), Tyler MacDowall (500 freestyle), and Tyler Cyr (200 IM) have also achieved individual victories in the pool, and D.J. Mulligan has succeeded three-time NVL diving champion Riley Clark by picking up a few wins at the beginning of the year.

The Hawks are set to visit Kennedy Friday, before hosting Holy Cross Jan. 24.
