BEACON FALLS — The Woodland dance team finished fourth in a field of six teams Feb. 6 at the Naugatuck Valley League dance championship held in the Hawks’ home gym.

Woodland scored 466 points over its two routines, finishing behind champion Wolcott (542.7 points), runner-up Seymour (521) and third-place Oxford (500.9). Torrington and Holy Cross rounded out the field, while Naugatuck was unable to compete.

The Hawks performed a hip-hop pom routine to a mix of late ‘90s pop music followed by an elegant jazz routine. Their second routine earned their highest score, netting 255.8 points — the sixth-highest-scoring routine of the night.

Woodland’s Cristiana Santos and Kelly Mirando earned All-NVL honors, as did Naugatuck’s Kaylee Llano.
