Basketball tournament entering fifth year

PROSPECT — The 5th annual DePalma 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament is set for March 17.

The tournament memorializes the late Joe and Karen DePalma. Karen DePalma died from breast cancer in 2012 at the age of 46. In August 2016, Joe DePalma died at 54 years old from kidney cancer. The couple lived in Prospect and are survived by two children.

The tournament is at Prospect Elementary School, 75 New Haven Road. It’s open to boys and girls in grades six through 12. Games will be played from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. for players in grades six through eight and from 1 to 4 p.m. for high school-aged players. The cost is $10 per player. Teams with a minimum of three players and individuals are welcome to sign up.
