Naugatuck Babe Ruth announces signups

NAUGATUCK — Naugatuck Babe Ruth is holding signups for baseball on Feb. 17 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the ION Community Room, 270 Church St.

The league is open to boys ages 13 through 15 who live in Naugatuck, Beacon Falls and Prospect. The registration fee is $160. New players must bring their birth certificate.

Registration coming up for Prospect Little League

PROSPECT — Prospect Little League has announced upcoming registration dates for the 2018 baseball season.

Registration will be held on Feb. 10 and Feb. 24 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., and March 6 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Prospect Volunteer Fire Department, 26 New Haven Road.

The league is open to any child who turns 4 years old before Sept. 1. The divisions range from tee-ball, ages 4 through 5, to Junior League, ages 13 through 14. The fees are $75 for tee-ball and AA coach pitch and $115 for AAA player pitch and Majors. The fee for the Junior League is to be determined based on the number of players.

Union City Little League holding registration

NAUGATUCK — Union City Little League announced upcoming registration dates for the 2018 season.

Registration will be held on Feb. 9, Feb. 16 and Feb. 23 from 6 to 8 p.m., and Feb. 10, Feb. 17 and Feb. 24 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the little league, 165 Morris St.

Boys born between May 1, 2005 and Aug. 31, 2014 who live or go to school on the eastside of town are eligible to register. Girls born between May 1, 2005 and Aug. 31, 2014 and live in Naugatuck are eligible to register. Registration can also be done online at www.unioncityll.com.

Naugatuck Basketball Association reaches midway point of season

NAUGATUCK — The Naugatuck Basketball Association is approaching the midway point of the season.

As of games played last week, the standings in the league were: Police (4-0), B&G (4-0) Elks (3-1), Rich’s Car Works (2-1), Alderson’s (2-1), New Era (3-2), Nardelli’s (2-2), Liberty Bank (2-3), Ion Bank (1-2), Coldwell Banker (1-3), Buckmiller Thurston Mengacci Funeral Home (1-5), and Palmer Herman (0-5).

The league plays games on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays starting at 5:30 p.m. at Hillside Intermediate School. Admission is free to the public.
