Marinaro signs letter of intent to play at Post

NAUGATUCK — Naugatuck senior Steve Marinaro signed a letter of intent last week to play baseball for Post University.

“I will be looking to major in communications and journalism,” Marinaro said. “I toured the university last winter and I knew that is where I wanted to go. It’s close to home and my family and friends can see me play without any long road trip. It was a big part of my decision and when I met the players and coaches they made me feel at home.”

The Division II Eagles went 14-29 last year in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference. Post plays a majority of its home games at Municipal Stadium.

Marinaro, who is being looked at as a middle infielder for Post, batted .282 for Naugatuck last season and split time at third base and shortstop. He also pitched 25 innings.
