Legion preparing for season

PROSPECT — The American Legion Posts 194-25 baseball team is preparing for its 10th season.

Baseball players from Beacon Falls and Prospect, who are 18 years old and under, can try out for the team. The team plays in Zone 5 and will play a 30-game schedule in June and July.

The team will play its home games this year at the new baseball field at Hotchkiss Park. The mayor’s office is planning a grand opening ceremony for the field in June. For preseason registration information, call general manager Jeff Clarke at (203) 228-0374.

The team is seeking businesses and organizations to be sponsors this season. All sponsors will be invited to and included in the grand opening ceremonies. Checks can be mailed to American Legion Baseball, P.O. Box 7192, Prospect, CT 06712.
