Round of Applause

Woodland and Naugatuck indoor track is a synonym for perennial dominance. Tuesday’s Naugatuck Valley League championships at the Floyd Little Athletic Center in New Haven were heavily highlighted by Hawks and ‘Hounds. Fourteen Woodland and six Naugatuck athletes earned All-NVL honors by winning events and those performances showed in the final team standings. The Woodland girls repeated their league championship while the Naugatuck boys stole back the boys title in what has become a great track rivalry. We’ve got less than four months before they do it all again outdoors.

Your weekly Quinnipiac men’s hockey update doesn’t include a ton of new information, other than the fact that the Bobcats have stretched their unbeaten streak to a national-best 17 games in a row and were just a few votes shy of becoming the No. 1-ranked team in the country this week. They’re still sitting at No. 2 and have a pair of huge road games this weekend, including a trip to No. 8 Yale on Saturday night that will be televised on CPTV Sports. Catch the fever, folks. Catch the fever.
