Woodland maintained the momentum it had been steadily gaining throughout the season in its final meet on Tuesday, a 93-81 win over Kennedy in Waterbury. The Hawks dominated the meet, winning each of the first eight events before allowing the Eagles to capture the final four. The Black and Gold kicked off with a win in the 200-yard medley relay, as the team of senior Alyssa Maggiore, senior Sam Angeloszek, junior Carolyn Luddy and freshman Rachel Gerard posted a time of two minutes, 16.32 seconds. Sophomore Katie-Jean Hinckley continued her roll, once again capturing the 200 free (2:07.50) and 100 fly (1:13.59). Freshman Chrissy Leeper also posted an excellent performance, winning both the 200 individual medley (2:38.26) and 500 free (6:08.51). Senior Jill Pagoni again showed her strength in the free sprints, winning the 50-yard race in 27.70 and the 100-yarder in 1:02.07. Sophomore Dayna Chucta scored 170.90 points to win the diving event. The Hawks will take the rest of the week off before league meets next week—the NVL trials are Nov. 4 at Kennedy, while the diving finals are Nov. 5 at Woodland. Swimming finals are Nov. 7 at Kennedy.
