NAUGATUCK — The Naugatuck High School DECA club is holding its 5th Annual Clash for the Cure students versus faculty basketball game tonight at 7 p.m. in the high school’s gymnasium.

The annual game is a fundraiser to benefit the Dana Farber Cancer Institute. This year, the DECA club has invited a special guest, 10-year-old Justin DaSilva of Prospect. DaSilva was first diagnosed with cancer in 2009, but after treatment had been in remission for three years. In January his cancer returned. He is now in treatment again, and the NHS students hope that the packed gymnasium with all the support and prayers of his new friends will make for a fun night, and assist in his healing.

While the game is a wonderful celebration of talent and spirit each year, the real benefit is what the Naugatuck students show the faculty and community in attendance, DECA advisor Tim Reilly said in a news release.

“These last five years have shown me that Naugatuck’s kids are among the finest in the state,” Reilly said. “Using their marketing skills to promote and sell tickets and their hearts to make the night a success, shows that tomorrow’s leaders are right here amongst us.”

Tickets are available at the door for $6. Tickets for children 11 years old and under are $3. Pizza and water will be sold.
