Lioness Club of Beacon Falls
BEACON FALLS — The Lioness Club of Beacon Falls is accepting applications for its $1,000 college scholarship to be awarded to a female graduating from an area high school in 2011 whose legal residence is Beacon Falls.
The scholarship will be awarded to a deserving student who has proven to be an outstanding citizen and is dedicated to community service. The scholarship is awarded based on academic performance, leadership and community service. The student must plan to attend an accredited two or four-year college, university or technical school in the fall. The recipient will be selected by a committee of Lioness Club members.
In the past the scholarship was only available to female Woodland Regional High School students. But, now it’s open to all female Beacon Falls residents who are graduating from area high schools in 2011. Applications must be typed and are available electronically. Completed applications must be received by April 25 in order to be considered.

Naugatuck Pop Warner Football and Cheer league
NAUGATUCK—The Naugatuck Pop Warner Football and Cheer league is offering two $500 scholarships, one for a graduating girl and one for a graduating boy who played football or cheered for either the Trivalley Redskins or the Jr. Hawks Pop Warner programs. Southern Connecticut Pop Warner also offers a scholarship as well.
Please inquire at Naugatuck High School about these great opportunities for eligible graduating seniors. All applicants must apply by May 1.
Naugatuck Valley Savings and Loan
NAUGATUCK–Naugatuck Valley Savings and Loan will award two $1,000 scholarships.
The Donald G. Brubaker Memorial Scholarship is available for Naugatuck High School seniors, who plan to continue their education, seniors from Naugatuck who go to area schools and bank customers or their children regardless of residency.
The Ronald D. Lengyel Scholarship is available only to Naugatuck High School seniors who plan to further their education.
Applications are available at the bank or from area guidance counselors. Completed applications must be returned to Naugatuck Valley Savings and Loan by April 29.
Winfred B. Langhorst Memorial Scholarship
NAUGATUCK — St. Michael’s Church is offering the Winfred B. Langhorst Memorial Scholarship.
The $2,000 scholarship is available to a resident of Naugatuck or a registered member of St. Michael’s Church, Naugatuck.
The student must be a graduating senior from an accredited area high school or an accredited parochial or preparatory school, who is planning to attend college or another post-secondary institution of higher learning.
Interested students should contact their guidance department for an application.
The deadline for scholarship applications to be received is April 19.
Frank “Spec” Shea Memorial Scholarship
NAUGATUCK–Applications for the Frank “Spec” Shea Memorial Scholarship are available at the Naugatuck High School counseling office.
Naugatuck High School seniors who played sports in high school and are continuing their studies at an accredited community college, college or university are eligible to apply.
Camille B. Perugini Charitable Trust
The trustees of the Camille B. Perugini Charitable Trust are now accepting applications for its annual scholarships.
The scholarships are available to all high school seniors from Naugatuck, Prospect, Beacon Falls, Wolcott and Waterbury, who demonstrate scholastic achievement, community involvement and financial need.
Scholarships will range up to $3,000 and multiple students will be awarded scholarships.
An additional $1,500 scholarship will be offered this year in the memory of John A. Perugini to a student who is pursuing a career in the military or animal care. Students interested in this scholarship should specify that in the essay for the application.

Naugatuck Portuguese Club
NAUGATUCK — The Naugatuck Portuguese Club is offering three scholarships to students whose parents or guardians are members of the club.
Applicants must be completing their senior year at an accredited high school in Connecticut and planning to attend a two or four-year school of higher education.
Applications are available at the Portuguese Club, 110 Rubber Ave., Naugatuck or from Maria Flora Fidalgo (203) 729-7706.
Applications must be completed and returned by April 15.
Beacon Falls Lions Club
BEACON FALLS — The Beacon Falls Lions Club is now accepting applications for three $2,000 college scholarships.
The William Cable Memorial Scholarship and two Beacon Falls Lions Club Scholarships will be awarded to graduating high school seniors residing in Beacon Falls, who are pursuing higher education at an accredited college or university. The scholarships are not limited to only Woodland High School students and are available to any graduating senior from Beacon Falls. Graduating seniors are encouraged to apply.
Applications are available at Woodland Regional High School through the guidance office, at the Beacon Falls Library or at the Beacon Falls Post Office. Naugatuck Women’s Club
NAUGATUCK — Two $1,000 scholarship awards will be offered to assist any Naugatuck resident who is a graduating high school senior continuing their education by entering an accredited two or four-year college or pursuing their education at a technical or vocational school.
Applications can be obtained at the guidance department of Naugatuck High School and must be returned by April 22.

Naugatuck Day Care
NAUGATUCK — The Naugatuck Day Care, Inc. is offering a $200 scholarship to a graduating senior going on to college.
The candidate had to attend Naugatuck Day Care, Inc. and an essay on “My goals for the future are…” must accompany the completed application.

Nellie and Ruth Cowdell Scholarship
PROSPECT — The Prospect Historical Society will be awarding a $1,000 scholarship to a graduating senior, who will be attending an institute of higher learning in the fall.
Applicants must be a prospect resident. The Nellie and Ruth Cowdell Scholarship is based on scholarship, financial need, service and a short essay about prospect.
Applications are available at most high school guidance offices, Prospect Town Hall and Prospect Public Library.
Applications are due by May. 6.
