BEACON FALLS — The Woodland Regional High School Hall of Fame is opening nominations for its second induction class to be announced later this spring.

The WRHS Hall of Fame was started last year as a celebration of Woodland’s 10th anniversary school year. Six inductees made up the first class, including athletes Gina DellaRose and Pat Krakowski, football coach Chris Anderson, retired assistant principal Maureen Carroll, the Region 16 High School Cooperative, and the 2004 football team.

Nominations for this year’s class were officially opened last Friday. Nominations may be made from any person involved in the Woodland community, including residents of either Prospect or Beacon Falls and those who have had involvement with the high school.

Nominations are open in the four categories of alumni, athletics, faculty/staff, and contributors. Alumni and athletes must be six years removed from graduation (classes of 2004, ‘05, and ‘06) while coaches must be at least one year removed from coaching at Woodland. Retired staff is also eligible, as well as any person who contributed to Woodland in any way. Groups are also eligible in any category.

Nominations can be made online at halloffame.wrhsonline.net, or by using a hard copy of the nomination form at the Woodland main office. Nominations made on paper must be returned to the Woodland office by April 13, while online nominations are due by April 20.

All nominated candidates who meet eligibility requirements will be reviewed by the WRHS Hall of Fame Committee at the end of April, and the committee will vote on this year’s class. The class will be announced in the first week of May and will be inducted at the school’s annual academic awards night.
