Naugatuck police recently filed the following charges:

Melissa Serrano, 24, of 305 Priscilla St., Bridgeport, was charged Feb. 28 with fraudulently obtaining controlled substance, second-degree forgery, conspiracy to commit second-degree forgery, conspiracy to commit fraudulently obtaining controlled substance and criminal attempt at possession of controlled substance or more than half ounce of cannabis.

Police reported on Feb. 28 at approximately 2 p.m. officers were dispatched to the Naugatuck Pharmacy, 153 Maple St., for a counter/forgery complaint. Police reported the pharmacist at the location advised the Naugatuck Police Department that the accused had tried to use forged scripts to obtain a specific amount of a controlled substance. The accused had given fraudulent scripts and information through a doctor’s office that was unaware of the transactions, police reported. Based on the information, police reported, the accused was taken into custody for the listed charges. The accused was released on a $1,000 surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on March 11.

Kristi Marie Zabilski, 39, of 121 Hill St. Ext., Naugatuck, was charged Feb. 28 with sixth-degree larceny and first-degree criminal trespass.

Police reported on Feb. 28 officers were dispatched to Walmart, 1100 New Haven Road, on a report of a shoplifting from the store. Police reported loss prevention advised that they observed the accused illegally conceal $92.45 worth of items and exit the store without paying for the items. Police reported the accused was also not allowed on the property due to three previous shoplifting incidents, officer’s advisement, and the accused being advised through a no trespass that the accused signed. The accused was released on $2,000 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on March 11.

Tyson Quinones, 33, of 46 Plaza Drive, Middletown, was charged Feb. 28 with second-degree failure to appear.

Police reported the accused was arrested on an active failure to appear (PRAWN) arrest warrant. The accused was released on a $400 cash bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on March 11.

Devon Watkins, 25, of 140 Stone Fence Road, Naugatuck, was charged Feb. 29 with illegal operation of motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of less than half ounce of cannabis.

Police reported on Feb. 29 at approximately 1:26 a.m. an officer initiated a motor vehicle investigation in the Church Street area of Naugatuck. Through the officer’s investigation, police reported, the accused was found to be operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol and or drugs, driving on the wrong side of the street and traveling unreasonably fast. Police reported the accused was also found in possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia. The accused was released on a $500 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on March 11.

Patrick John Alcorace, 48, of 6 Marsh Hill Road, Naugatuck, was charged Feb. 29 with illegal operation of motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.

Police reported on Feb. 29 at approximately 1:26 a.m. an officer initiated a motor vehicle investigation in the area of Gail Drive in Naugatuck. Through the officer’s investigation, police reported, the accused was found to be operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs while failing to drive in the proper lane. The accused was released on a $500 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on March 11.

Meghan Elizabeth Lacroix, 39, of 194 Park Ave., Naugatuck, was charged Feb. 29 with second-degree failure to appear.

Police reported the accused was arrested on an active failure to appear (PRAWN) arrest warrant. The accused was released on a $500 surety bond and scheduled to appear in Meriden Superior Court on March 11.

Noelle C. Gentile, 30, of 47 Woodside Drive, Dover Plains, N.Y., was charged Feb. 29 with sixth-degree larceny.

Police reported on Feb. 29 at approximately 10:41 p.m. officers were dispatched to Walmart, 1100 New Haven Road, on a report of a shoplifting from the store. Police reported loss prevention advised that they observed the accused illegally conceal $114.084 worth of merchandise and exit the store without paying for items. The accused was released on $500 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on March 11.

Marymar Valentin, 25, of 212 Pearl St., Bridgeport, was charged March 1 with sixth-degree larceny.

Police reported on March 1 at approximately 1:50 a.m. officers were dispatched to Walmart, 1100 New Haven Road, on a report of a shoplifting from the store. Police reported loss prevention advised that they observed the accused illegally conceal $157.50 worth of merchandise and exit the store without paying for items. The accused was released on promise to appear (PTA) and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on March 12.

Jesse Pierre Boucher, 29, of 185 S. Washington St., Plainville, was charged March 2 with second-degree failure to appear.

Police reported on March 2 the accused was arrested on an active failure to appear (PRAWN) arrest warrant. The accused was released on a $2,500 surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on March 11.

John Ramirez Martinez, 35, of 214 Wooster St., Naugatuck, was charged March 2 with disorderly conduct, risk of injury to child and third-degree assault.

Police reported on March 2 at approximately 10:50 a.m. officers responded to a residence on a report of a domestic dispute. Police reported it was discovered through the investigation that the accused became involved in an argument with the victim that escalated and became physical when, according to the victim, the accused pushed the victim multiple times causing injury from the falls. The accused was released on
$5,000 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on March 3.

Rui M. Borges, 55, of 73 Arch St., Naugatuck, was charged March 4 with illegal operation of motor vehicle under the influence-second offense and drinking while driving.

Police reported on March 4 at approximately 1:15 p.m. an officer initiated a motor vehicle investigation in the area of 727 Rubber Ave. by the Stop and Shop supermarket. Through the officer’s investigation, police reported, the accused was found to be operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license and while under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs. Police reported the accused was also drinking while operating a motor vehicle. The accused was released on $1,000 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on March 12.

Robert Pelkey, 53, 481 Spring St., Naugatuck, was charged March 5 with two counts of second-degree failure to appear.

Police reported on March 5 the accused was arrested on active failure to appear arrest warrants. The accused was held on surety bonds and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on March 5.
