Naugatuck police recently filed the following charges:

Kimberly Anne Steady, 38, of 49 Walsh St., New Britain, was charged Oct. 10 with second-degree failure to appear.

Police reported on Oct. 10 at approximately 3:01 p.m. Steady turned herself in on an active arrest warrant. Steady was given a court date of Oct. 11 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and held on a court-set $10,000 surety bond.

Naquavius Jazae Benton, 21, of 1348 North Main St., Waterbury, was charged Oct. 10 with third-degree burglary and interfering with an officer.

Police reported on Oct. 10 at approximately 7:37 p.m. officers responded to Forest Street for a suspicious person complaint. Police reported Benton was observed by the victim attempting to take items from his vehicle. The victim’s vehicle was parked in his driveway. When Benton was confronted by the victim, police reported, Benton walked away. Officers located Benton on an adjacent street, police reported. Benton initially gave the officers a false name, police reported. He was given a court date of Oct. 11 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $10,000 non-surety bond.

Helene Marie O’Loughlin, 22, of 546 Sylvan Ave., Waterbury, was charged Oct. 11 with possession of controlled substance, failure to keep narcotic in original container and use of drug paraphernalia.

Police reported on Oct. 11 at approximately 11:29 p.m. an officer investigated a suspicious vehicle on Platts Mill Road. Police reported O’Loughlin was identified as the operator of the vehicle. During the investigation, police reported, O’Loughlin was found to be in possession of narcotics and drug paraphernalia. O’Loughlin was given a court date of Oct. 24 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $2,500 non-surety bond.

Ricardo L. Zolyomi, 56, of 225 Quint St., Naugatuck, was charged Oct. 12 with driving under the influence.

Police reported on Oct. 12 at approximately 1:45 a.m. an officer conducted a motor vehicle investigation on Prospect Street. During the investigation, police reported, it was determined Zolyomi was operating under the influence of alcohol. Zolyomi was given a court date of Oct. 24 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $500 non-surety bond.

Jonatan J. Sanchez, 30, was charged Oct. 12 with second-degree larceny.

Police reported on Oct. 12 at approximately 9:30 a.m. Sanchez was served with an active arrest warrant while at court. Sanchez was given a court date of Oct. 12 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and held for arraignment.

Luiz G. Ortiz, 29, of 52 Clinton Ave., Meriden, was charged Oct. 12 with interfering with an officer, and Oct. 13 with second-degree failure to appear and first-degree failure to appear.

Police reported on Oct. 12 at approximately 7:42 p.m. an officer conducted a motor vehicle investigation on Hillside Avenue. Police reported Ortiz was a passenger of the vehicle. When the officer attempted to identify Ortiz, police reported, he gave a false name. Police reported Ortiz ran from the officer but was taken into custody. When the officer properly identified Ortiz, it was determined he was wanted on two arrest warrants, police reported. Ortiz was given a court date of Oct. 15 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and held on bond.

Rianna Nicole Duffie, 19, of 94 Dikeman St., Waterbury, was charged Oct. 12 with sixth-degree larceny and interfering with an officer.

Police reported on Oct. 12 at approximately 8:04 p.m. officers responded to Walmart for a larceny complaint. Police reported Duffie stole $186.16 worth of merchandise. Duffie gave the officer a false name, but she was properly identified during the booking process, police reported. Duffie was given a court date of Oct. 24 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $5,000 non-surety bond.

Thomas Melendez, 28, of 36 Coniston Ave., Waterbury, was charged Oct. 13 with sixth-degree larceny.

Police reported on Oct. 13 at approximately 8:45 p.m. officers responded to Walmart for a shoplifting complaint. Police reported Melendez used the self-scan register and didn’t scan $250.57 worth of merchandise. Melendez was given a court date of Oct. 24 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $500 non-surety bond.

Isiah R. Peters, 30, of 20 Ayers St., Waterbury, was charged Oct. 14 with violation of protective order.

Police reported on Oct. 14 at approximately 11:51 p.m. an officer conducted a motor vehicle investigation on Meadow Street. Peters was identified in the vehicle. Police reported Peters was in the vehicle with the victim to whom he has a valid protective order with. Peters was given a court date of Oct. 15 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $2,000 non-surety bond.

Ednesha Shamone Williams, 22, of 12 Marley Place, Waterbury, was charged Oct. 14 with sixth-degree larceny and conspiracy to commit sixth-degree larceny.

Police reported on Oct. 14 at approximately 6:06 p.m. for a larceny complaint. Police reported Williams, with a female accomplice, stole $178.94 worth of wallets.
Williams was given a court date of Oct. 24 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $500 non-surety bond.

Laquisha Bryshana Simmons, 23, of 44 Willow St., Waterbury, was charged Oct. 14 with sixth-degree larceny and conspiracy to commit sixth-degree larceny.

Police reported on Oct. 14 at approximately 6:06 p.m. for a larceny complaint. Police reported Simmons, with a female accomplice, stole $178.94 worth of wallets.
Williams was given a court date of Oct. 24 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $500 non-surety bond.

Ryan Huffman, 26, of 23 Applewood Lane, Naugatuck, was charged Oct. 14 with disorderly conduct.

Police reported at approximately 9:35 p.m. officers responded to a domestic. During an argument, police reported, Huffman pushed and hit the victim. There were no injuries reported. Huffman was given a court date of Oct. 15 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a promise to appear.

Nestor Oswaldo Varicelly, 28, 2 Cotton Hollow Road, Naugatuck, was charged Oct. 15 with third-degree assault and disorderly conduct.

Police reported on Oct. 15 at approximately 7:40 a.m. officers responded to a domestic disturbance. During an argument, police reported, Varicelly grabbed the victim and shook her. Varicelly was given a court date of Oct. 16 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $5,000 non-surety bond.

Richard Randolph Nigro, 52, of 248 Oakville Ave., Waterbury, was charged Oct. 15 with sixth-degree larceny.

Police reported on Oct. 15 at approximately 10:03 a.m. Nigro was arrested on an active arrest warrant. The warrant was for larceny reported from Stop & Shop on June 5, 2018. Police reported Nigro stole four 30 packs of beer and left the area. Nigro was identified through the investigation, police reported. Nigro was given a court date of Oct. 24 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $500 surety bond.

Gregory Cinicolo, 62, of 111Hanover Road, Newtown, was charged Oct. 15 with third-degree larceny.

Police reported on Oct. 15 at approximately 3:30 p.m. Cinicolo was arrested on the above listed charges. Cinicolo was given a court date to appear at Waterbury Superior Court.

Joanne Jones, 53, of 44 Overton Ave., Waterbury, was charged Oct. 15 with sixth-degree larceny.

Police reported on Oct. 15 at approximately 3:47 p.m. an officer responded to Walmart for a larceny complaint. Police reported Jones stole merchandise from the store. Jones was given a court date of Oct. 24 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $5,000 non-surety bond.

Sabrina Nicole Gonzalez, 21, of 136 Orange St., Waterbury, was charged Oct. 16 with two counts of failure to respond to infraction.

Police reported on Oct. 16 Gonzalez was arrested on the above listed charges. She was given a court date of Oct. 31 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a cash bond.
