Naugatuck police recently filed the following charges:

Chascity Perez, 24, of 11 Woodland Terrace, Waterbury, was charged Feb. 24 with evading responsibility-injury/property damage.

Police reported on Feb. 24 at approximately 8:55 a.m. officers responded to the area of 143 Andrew Ave. for an evading motor vehicle accident. Police reported the accused struck the victim on the side of the roadway and left the scene. Police reported an officer located the accused sometime later and arrested the accused. During the investigation, police reported, it was determined the accused was operating an uninsured and unregistered motor vehicle. The accused was released on a $500 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on March 5.

Alayna Capri White, 28, of 21A Augustine St., New Haven, was charged Feb. 24 with criminal attempt at second-degree burglary, first-degree criminal trespass, second-degree breach of peace and second-degree threatening.

Police reported on Feb. 24 at approximately 8:07 p.m. Naugatuck police responded to 133 Walnut St. on a reported suspicious person complaint at the residence. Upon the officers’ arrival, police reported, they were met by the accused outside of the residence and she appeared to be under the influence. Police reported the accused was upset and yelling. Police reported officers found that the accused was not wanted at the residence. The accused was with another person at the time. Police reported the accused and an accomplice had kicked and banged on the front door of the residence while trying to make entry. Police reported the accused was yelling threats to harm and kill the victim inside if the accused was not let in or if the victim went outside. Police reported the victim called the police for fear of their safety. The accused was held on a $2,500 surety bond to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Feb. 25.

Keith Walker, 36, of 721 Silver Sands Road, East Haven, was charged Feb. 24 with first-degree criminal trespass, second-degree breach of peace and interfering with an officer/resisting.

Zachary William Lance, 25, of 709 Rubber Ave., Naugatuck, was charged Feb. 25 with violation of probation.

Police reported on Feb. 25 the accused was arrested on a probation violation. The accused was released on a $1,000 surety bond and scheduled to appear at Waterbury Superior Court on March 4.

Casey Ann Hromjak, 22, of 259 May St., Naugatuck, was charged Feb. 25 with disorderly conduct.

Police reported on Feb. 25 at approximately 10:57 a.m. officers responded to a residence on a report of a domestic dispute. Police reported it was discovered through the investigation that the accused became involved in an argument with the victim that escalated and became physical when, according to the victim, the accused threw items at the victim. The accused was released on a $2,500 non-surety bond to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Feb. 26.

Zanaisja Briel Williams, 27, of 22 Barnum Court, Naugatuck, was charged Feb. 25 with sixth-degree larceny.

Police reported on Feb. 25 officers were dispatched to Walmart, 1100 New Haven Road, on a report of a shoplifting from the store. Police reported loss prevention advised that they observed the accused illegally conceal $93.33 worth of merchandise and exit the store without paying for items. The accused was released on a promise to appear and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior court on March 12.

Gina Marie Varrone, 32, of 520 Highland Ave., was charged Feb. 26 with possession of controlled substance or more than half ounce of cannabis.

Police reported on Feb. 25 at approximately 1:35 a.m. an officer initiated a motor vehicle investigation in the area of Auto Zone on Bridge Street. Through the officer’s investigation, police reported, the accused was found to be in possession of a controlled substance. Police reported the accused was also operating a motor vehicle without the proper license class and illegal registration. The accused was released on promise to appear and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on March 11.

Michael Javier Acevedo Carrion, 22, of 171 Union City Road, Naugatuck, was charged Feb. 26 with cruelty to animals.

Police reported on Dec. 5, 2019, at approximately 11:54 a.m. animal control officers were dispatched to 171 Union City Road for a cruelty to animals complaint. Through the officers’ investigation, police reported, it was found that the accused was abusing his canine by not feeding or providing water to his canine. Police reported the canine was found in the residence and was emaciated and appeared to be starving. The canine was taken on that date to a veterinarian for further care. Police reported a warrant was written and served on Feb. 26, 2020, to the accused for cruelty to animals. The accused was released on promise to appear and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on
March 11.

Suscella Ali, 24, of 70 Benz St., Ansonia, was charged Feb. 26 with sixth-degree larceny, risk of injury to child and criminal impersonation.

Police reported officers were dispatched to Walmart, 1100 New Haven Road, on a report of a shoplifting from the store. Police reported loss prevention advised that they observed the accused illegally conceal over $100 worth of merchandise and exit the store without paying for items. Police reported the accused also had her child present during the incident when she tried to flee from the scene. Police reported the accused also tried to give the wrong name during the officer’s investigation. The accused was released on $5,000 surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on March 11.

Brendan Patrick Conway, 54, of 11 Christy Lane, Naugatuck, was charged Feb. 27 with second-degree breach of peace and second-degree threatening.

Police reported on Feb. 27 the accused was arrested on an active arrest warrant. Police reported the warrant was from a road rage incident where the accused threatened the victim and caused a disturbance. The accused was released on a $500 non-surety bond to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on March 11.

Khyre Javar Peterson, 30, of 379 Dover St., Bridgeport, was charged Feb. 27 with second-degree failure to appear.

Police reported on Feb. 27 the accused was arrested on an active failure to appear (PRAWN) arrest warrant. The accused was released on a $500 surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on March 11.

Christopher Hicks, 23, of 69 Highland Ave., Naugatuck, was charged Feb. 27 with possession of controlled substance or more than half ounce of cannabis.

Police reported on Feb. 27 at approximately 8:45 p.m. an officer initiated a motor vehicle investigation in the area of Aetna Street and Cliff Street. Through the officer’s investigation, police reported, the accused was found to be in possession of a controlled substance. The accused was released on a $5,000 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on March 11.

George Harold Gaston, 34, of 290 Lakeview Ave., Waterbury, was charged Feb. 27 with engaging police in pursuit, reckless driving and interfering with officer/resisting.

Police reported on Feb. 27 at approximately 8:11 p.m. an officer initiated a motor vehicle investigation in the area of Route 8 South at Exit 26. When the officer tried to approach the vehicle, police reported, the accused refused to stop and engaged the officer in pursuit. Police reported the pursuit was broken off by the officer and the officer caught up with the accused at a residence in Waterbury that evening. The accused was then taken into custody. Through the officer’s investigation, police reported, the accused was found to be recklessly operating an unregistered and uninsured motor vehicle with an improper registration plate. The accused was released on a $10,000 surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on March 11.
