Naugatuck police recently filed the following charges:

Jennifer L. Caron, 39, of 233 Center St., Bristol, was charged Jan. 7 with violation of protective order.

Police reported on Jan. 7 at approximately 5:20 p.m. the accused was arrested on an active arrest warrant. Police reported the warrant was from an incident where the accused violated a full no contact protective order by making contact with the victim on or about Dec. 22, 2019. The accused was held on a $10,000 surety bond to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Jan. 8.

Elizabeth Sophia Flanagan, 35, of 1460 New Haven Ave., Milford, was charged Jan. 7 with sixth-degree larceny and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Police reported on Jan. 7 officers were dispatched to Walmart, 1100 New Haven Road, on a report of a shoplifting from the store. Police reported loss prevention advised that they observed the accused illegally conceal $49.51 worth of merchandise and exit the store without paying for the items. Police reported the accused was also found in possession of drug paraphernalia. The accused was held on $1,500 surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Jan. 8.

Keven Bruno, 18, of 47 Lexington Ave., Waterbury, was charged Jan. 7 with illegal possession of weapon in motor vehicle, sale of controlled substance, possession of controlled substance or more than half ounce of cannabis and interfering with an officer.

Police reported on Jan. 7 at approximately 7:59 p.m. an officer initiated a motor vehicle investigation in the area of Elm Street and Rubber Avenue. Through the officer’s investigation, police reported, the accused was found to be operating an unregistered and uninsured motor vehicle with a suspended license while in possession of marijuana and a controlled substance. While conducting the arrest, police reported, the accused interfered with the officer’s investigation and resisted arrest. Police reported the accused had a large black-handled knife with an 18-inch blade within reach and easy access. The accused was released on a $5,000 surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Jan. 22.

Alexis Sanchez, 35, of 110 Congress Ave. 3w, Waterbury, was charged Jan. 8 with first-degree criminal trespass, conspiracy to commit sixth-degree larceny and two counts of sixth-degree larceny.

Police reported on Jan. 8 the accused was arrested on two active arrest warrants. Police reported one warrant was from larceny incident where the accused concealed merchandise and exited the Family Dollar, 799 New Haven Road. This incident was reported to Naugatuck police on Oct. 15. Police reported one warrant was from a larceny incident where the accused concealed merchandise and exited Walmart, 1100 New Haven Road. This incident was reported to the Naugatuck police on Dec. 20. The accused was released on a promise to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Jan. 22.
Latoya S. Burris, 38, of 335 Willow St., Waterbury, was charged Jan. 8 with second-degree failure to appear.

Police reported on Jan. 8 the accused was arrested on an active failure to appear (PRAWN) arrest warrant. The accused was released on a $150 cash bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Jan. 22.

Michael Gelinas, 46, of 761 Wolcott Road Apt. 9, Wolcott, was charged Jan. 8 with two counts of violation of probation.

Police reported on Jan. 8 the accused was arrested on probation violations. The accused was held on surety bond and scheduled to appear at Waterbury Superior Court on Jan. 9.

Caprice Armoni Nealy, 22, of 122 Oak St. Fl. 1, Naugatuck, was charged Jan. 9 with possession of controlled substance.

Police reported on Jan. 9 at approximately 2:08 a.m. an officer initiated a motor vehicle investigation in the area of 282 South Main St. Through the officer’s investigation, police reported, the accused was found to be in possession of marijuana. The accused was released on a $5,000 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Jan. 22.

Robert Stephens, 32, of 211 Alsace St., Bridgeport, was charged Jan. 9 with second-degree harassment.

Police reported on Jan. 9 the accused was arrested on an active arrest warrant. Police reported the warrant was from an incident where the accused harassed the victim through excessive text messages on or about Dec. 27, 2019. The accused was released on $1,500 surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Jan. 9.

Fausto Modesto Martinez, 28, of 125 Shadee Lane, Waterbury, was charged Jan. 9 with disorderly conduct, risk of injury to child and second-degree threatening.

Police reported on Jan. 9 at approximately 6:14 p.m. officers responded to a report of a domestic dispute. Police reported it was discovered through the investigation that the accused became involved in an argument with the victim that escalated and became physical when, according to the victim, the accused grabbed at her and threatened to punch her in the face. Police reported the accused also grabbed at the victim causing a minor injury to her face. The accused was released on a $1,000 surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Jan. 10.

Angel Muniz, 53, of 933 Rubber Ave. 4k, Naugatuck, was charged Jan. 10 with disorderly conduct and fourth-degree sexual assault.

Police reported on Jan. 10 at approximately 12:30 a.m. officers responded to a residence on a report of a dispute. Police reported it was discovered through the investigation that the accused became involved in unwanted contact with the victim that was sexual in nature. The accused was held on a $10,000 surety bond to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Jan. 10.

Yolanda Ortiz, 43, of 29 Platt St. Apt. 1, Waterbury, was charged Jan. 10 with sixth-degree larceny.

Police reported on Jan. 10 at approximately 12:52 p.m. officers were dispatched to Walmart, 1100 New Haven Road, on a report of a shoplifting from the store. Police reported loss prevention advised that they observed the accused illegally conceal less than $500 worth of merchandise and exit the store without paying for items. The accused was released on promise to appear and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Jan. 22.

Jessica Marie Nieves, 29, of 128 Pinehurst Ave., Waterbury, was charged Jan. 10 with sixth-degree larceny.

Police reported on Jan. 10 at approximately 12:52 p.m. officers were dispatched to Walmart, 1100 New Haven Road, on a report of a shoplifting from the store. Police reported loss prevention advised that they observed the accused illegally conceal less than $500 worth of merchandise and exit the store without paying for items. The accused was released on promise to appear and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Jan. 22.

Theodore Louis Shpak, 47, of 7 Second Ave., Shelton, was charged Jan. 10 with possession of controlled substance or more than half ounce of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Police reported on Jan. 10 at approximately 1:29 p.m. an officer initiated a motor vehicle investigation in the area of Prospect Street and Clark Hill Road. Through the officer’s investigation, police reported, the accused was found to be in possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. The accused was released on promise to appear and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Jan. 22.

Brendan Fitzmaurice, 24, of 167 Meadow St., Naugatuck, was charged Jan. 11 with illegal operation of motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.

Police reported on Jan. 11 at approximately 1:30 a.m. an officer initiated a motor vehicle investigation in the Church Street area of Naugatuck. Through the officer’s investigation, police reported, the accused was found to be operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs while failing to drive in the proper lane. The accused was released on $500 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Jan. 23.

Pamela Walcott-Kelly, 49, of 33 Bates Road, Manchester, was charged Jan. 11 with sixth-degree larceny.

Police reported on Jan. 11 at 10:28 a.m. an officer responded to Walmart, 1100 New Haven Road, for a shoplifting complaint. Police reported the accused was observed not scanning merchandise before placing the items in her shopping bag at the self-checkout lanes. Police reported the accused was stopped by asset protection while trying to leave the store without paying for the items. Police reported the total value of unpaid items was $248. The accused was released on a promise to appear at Waterbury Superior Court on Jan. 23.

Chad Anthony Cilfone, 41, of 200 Park Ave., Naugatuck, was charged Jan. 11 with second-degree failure to appear.

Police reported on Jan. 11 the accused was arrested on an active failure to appear (PRAWN) arrest warrant. The accused was released on a $500 surety bond and scheduled to appear in Rockville Superior Court on Jan. 21.

Rolando Baerga, 33, of 23 Irion St., Waterbury, was charged Jan. 11 with criminal impersonation, third-degree assault, violation of protective order and second-degree breach of peace.

Police reported on Jan. 11 at approximately 6:35 p.m. officers responded to a report of a domestic dispute. Police reported it was discovered through the investigation that the accused became involved in an argument with the victim that escalated, when according to the victim, the accused threw a cell phone at the victim that hit her in the face causing a minor injury. Police reported the accused was also in violation of a standing protective order by being in the presence of the victim and causing harm to the victim. Police reported the accused also tried to give a different name to officers on scene to avoid being charged with the violation of the order. The accused was held on a $50,000 surety bond to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Jan. 13.
