Naugatuck police recently filed the following charges:

Matheus Raydan Pinheiro, 24, of 12 Gurdon St., Bridgeport, was charged, Aug. 30 with failure to respond to infraction and second-degree failure to appear.

Police reported on Aug. 30 the accused was arrested on an active failure to respond to an infraction arrest warrant and an active failure to appear (PRAWN) arrest warrant. The accused was released on bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Sept. 11.

Ava Lynn Holmes, 42, of 330 Bishop St. Apt. 705, Waterbury, was charged Aug. 30 with second-degree failure to appear and sixth-degree larceny.

Police reported on Aug. 30 officers were dispatched to Walmart, 1100 New Haven Road, on a report of a shoplifting from the store. Police reported loss prevention advised that they observed the accused illegally conceal $82.68 worth of merchandise and exit the store without paying for items. While on scene, police reported, the accused also was found to have an active failure to appear (PRAWN) arrest warrant. The accused was released on bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Sept. 11.

Pamela Renee Brown, 51, of 19 Grandview Ave. Apt. 3, Danbury, was charged Aug. 30 with violation or protective order.

Police reported on Aug. 30 at approximately 10:37 p.m. officers responded to an alarm at undisclosed location. Police reported it was discovered through the investigation that the accused became involved in an argument with the victim while at this location. Police reported the accused was in violation of a standing protective order by being with the victim at this location. The accused was released on a $5,000 non-surety bond to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Sept. 3.

Nicholas A. Zink, 30, of 54 Dalton St., Oakville, Aug. 30 with sixth-degree larceny and conspiracy to commit sixth-degree larceny.

Police reported on Aug. 30 officers were dispatched to Walmart, 1100 New Haven Road, on a report of a shoplifting from the store. Jose Rodriguez, 37, of 88 Garden Hill Circle, Waterbury, was charged Aug. 31 with illegal operation of motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol/drugs and possession of controlled substance or more than half ounce of cannabis.

Police reported on Aug. 31 at approximately 2:41 a.m. an officer initiated a motor vehicle investigation in the area of 1100 New Haven Road. Through the officer’s investigation, police reported, the accused was found to be operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and or drugs, in possession of a controlled substance, and operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license while failing to keep right. The accused was released on a $1,000 surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Sept. 11.

James L. Brown, 35, of 85 8 Lantern Park Drive, Naugatuck, was charged Aug. 31 with two counts of second-degree failure to appear.

Police reported on Aug. 31 the accused was arrested on active failure to appear (PRAWN) arrest warrants. The accused was released on bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Sept. 12.

Timothy O’Donnell, 55, of 155 Evening Star Drive, Naugatuck, was charged Aug. 31 with third-degree assault and disorderly conduct.

Police reported on Aug. 31 officers responded to a domestic disturbance between family members. During the incident, police reported, three subjects stated they became involved in an argument that turned physical when the accused subject struck one victim multiple times and pulled the victim’s hair. Police reported the accused then put the other victim in a headlock and struck this victim multiple times. Police reported the accused was also highly intoxicated at the time of the arrest. The accused was released on a $2,500 surety bond to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Sept. 3.

Christian Manouse, 23, of 8 Rough Wing Road, Naugatuck, was charged Sept. 1 with second-degree failure to appear.

Police reported on Sept. 1 the accused was arrested on an active failure to appear (PRAWN) arrest warrant. The accused was held on a $1,000 surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Sept. 3.

Mary Taylor, 43, of 131 Sunburst Road, Naugatuck, was charged Sept. 2 with disorderly conduct and Sept. 3 with first-degree violation of conditions of release.

Police reported on Sept. 2 at approximately 4:19 a.m. officers responded to a residence on a report of a domestic dispute. Police reported it was discovered through the investigation that the accused became involved in an argument with the victim that escalated and became physical when, according to the victim, the accused threw items at the victim. The accused was released on a $2,500 non-surety bond to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Sept. 3.

Police reported on Sept. 3 at approximately 5:24 p.m. officers responded to a residence on a report of a possible violation of a conditions of release. Police reported it was discovered through the investigation that the accused was found at the residence of the victim, which is in violation of the order. The accused was held on a $10,000 surety bond to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Sept. 4.

Quanda S. James, 33, of 1370 Highland Ave. Apt. 10, Waterbury, was charged Sept. 3 with illegal operation of motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol/drugs.

Police reported on Sept. 3 officers initiated a motor vehicle stop in the area of 620 North Church St. by the Xpress Mart. Through the officer’s investigation, police reported, it was determined that the accused operated a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and or drugs. Police reported the accused was also charged with additional motor vehicle charges. The accused was released on $500 non-surety bond to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Sept. 18.

Joseph Mikenas, 24, 509 Spring St. Apt. B, Naugatuck, was charged Sept. 4 with possession of controlled substance or more than half ounce of cannabis.

Police reported on Sept. 4 at 1:46 a.m. officers were dispatched to a domestic incident. Through the officer’s investigation, police reported, the accused was found to be in possession of a controlled substance. The accused was released on $1,000 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Sept. 18.

Anthony Tiru, 31, of 76 Angel Drive Apt. D, Waterbury, was charged Sept. 4 with third-degree criminal trespass, fourth-degree larceny and conspiracy to commit fourth-degree larceny.

Police reported on Sept. 4 the accused was arrested on a valid arrest warrant while in custody at Waterbury Superior Court for a larceny and trespassing incident that was reported to the Naugatuck Police Department on Aug. 3, 2019. The accused was scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Sept. 4.

Eugene A. Desroches, 50, of 123 Maple St., Seymour, was charged Sept. 5 with evading responsibility-injury/property damage.

Police reported on Sept. 5 at approximately 8:44 a.m. officers were dispatched to an evading a motor vehicle accident in the area of 3 Lewis Street. Officers were advised prior to arrival that the accused had fled the scene. Police reported officers found the accused sometime later. Through the officers’ investigation, police reported, the accused was found to have evaded the scene of a motor vehicle accident, failed to have a valid driver’s license, and was operating a motor vehicle without valid insurance or registration. The accused was released on $500 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Sept. 19.

Jesus Martinez, 38, of 975 Meriden Road, Waterbury, was charged Sept. 6 with interfering with an officer.

Police reported on Sept. 5 at 1:15 a.m. officers responded to a motor vehicle accident in the area of 500 South Main St. Through the officer’s investigation, police reported, the accused was operating a motor vehicle with no license and with improper headlamps. Police reported the accused also failed to cooperate with the investigation at the start by not giving his name. The accused was released on $1,000 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Sept. 18.

Daniel Poppa, 57, of 165 Morning Drove Road, was charged Sept. 6 with disorderly conduct.

Police reported on Sept. 6 the accused was arrested on a valid arrest warrant for a domestic incident that was reported to the Naugatuck Police Department on July 23, 2019. The accused was released on $500 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Sept. 9.

Jose Valentin, 27, of 118 South St., Waterbury, was charged Sept. 6 with second-degree failure to appear and illegal possession of weapon in motor vehicle.

Police reported on Sept. 6 at approximately 9:56 p.m. an officer initiated a motor vehicle investigation in the area of the South Main Street at the Mobil gas station. Through the officer’s investigation, police reported, the accused was found to be in possession of a weapon in a motor vehicle. Police reported the accused was arrested on an active failure to appear (prawn) arrest warrant. The accused was released on bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Sept. 18.

Reyna Burns, 21, of 654 High St., Naugatuck, was charged Sept. 7 with two counts of failure to respond to payable violation.

Police reported on Sept. 7 the accused was arrested on active failure to respond to an infraction arrest warrants. The accused was released on bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Sept. 18.

Sara Marion Johnson, 23, of 37 Diamond St., Naugatuck, was charged Sept. 7 with evading responsibility motor vehicle.

Police reported on Sept. 7 the accused was arrested on an active arrest warrant. The warrant was from an evading a motor vehicle accident that occurred on Aug. 15, 2019 where the accused also operated the motor vehicle with a suspended license. The accused was released on $500 surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Sept. 18.

Sara Sabanski, 20, of 51 Tawny Thrush Road, Naugatuck, was charged Sept. 7 with illegal operation of motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol/drugs.

Police reported on Sept. 7 at approximately 4:55 p.m. officers responded to the area of 110 Tawny Thrush Road for a motor vehicle accident. Police reported officers located the described vehicle crashed into another vehicle head on. Through the officers’ investigation, police reported, the accused was found to be operating under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs while failing to drive in the proper lane. The accused was released on $1,500 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Sept. 18.

Tyler Matthew Purcell, 21, of 76 Kingsbury Road, Bridgeport, was charged Sept. 7 with sale of controlled substance and possession of controlled substance or more than half ounce of cannabis.

Police reported on Sept. 7 at approximately 4:55 p.m. officers responded to the area of 110 Tawny Thrush Road for a motor vehicle accident. During the investigation, police reported, officers located the described vehicle crashed into another vehicle head on. Police reported the accused was found to be in possession of a controlled substance along with other charges. The accused was released on a $2,500 surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Sept. 18.

Richard Randolph Nigro, 53, of 248 Oakville Ave. Apt. F, Waterbury, was charged Sept. 8 with sixth-degree larceny.

Police reported on Sept. 8 the accused was arrested on an active arrest warrant. Police reported the warrant was from a shoplifting that occurred on Aug. 10, 2019, where the accused concealed merchandise while at Stop and Shop and exited without paying for the items. The accused was released on a $1,000 surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Sept. 18.

Kenneth Clark, 62, of 170 Cherry St., Naugatuck, was charged Sept. 8 with second-degree larceny.

Police reported on Sept. 8 the accused was arrested on an active arrest warrant. The warrant was from a larceny incident that was reported to Naugatuck police on July 24, 2019. The accused was released on a $10,000 surety bond and scheduled to appear in
Waterbury Superior Court on Sept. 25.

Richard Remokitis, 59, of 2 Woodland Park, Shelton, was charged Sept. 8 with second-degree breach of peace, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of controlled substance or more than half ounce of cannabis.

Police reported on Sept. 8 at approximately 7:15 p.m. officers were dispatched to the Cross Street commuter lot for a suspicious person/vehicle. Prior to arrival, police reported, officer’ were advised that a white male was walking around the lot half naked in only a white T-shirt. When officers arrived on scene, police reported, the accused was found in the driver’s seat of the vehicle naked and in possession of illegal narcotics and drug paraphernalia. The accused was released on $500 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Sept. 18.

James Fanning, 74, of 9 Avon Court, Beacon Falls, was charged Aug. 26 with illegal discharge of a firearm, second-degree breach of peace and second-degree reckless endangerment.

Tyler William Heavens, 24, of 1258 Wolcott Road, Wolcott, was charged Sept. 1 with illegal operation of motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol/drugs.
