Naugatuck police recently filed the following charges:

Sherry Gomez, 46, of 933 Rubber Ave. Apt. 4M, Naugatuck, was charged May 6 with third-degree assault, third-degree strangulation and disorderly conduct.

Police reported on May 6 at approximately 6:52 p.m. officers were dispatched to the Naugatuck Police Department for a walk-in complaint. During the investigation, police reported, it was discovered that the incident was domestic related. Police reported it was reported that the accused strangled the victim using both of her hands. Police reported officers observed marks on the victim’s neck consistent with being choked. The accused was released on a $10,000 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear at Waterbury Superior Court on May 7.

Jose Alexander Pizarro, 34, of 238 Wall St., Waterbury, was charged May 6 with reckless driving, failure to drive in proper lane, illegal operation of motor vehicle under suspension, possession of controlled substance or more than half ounce of cannabis and illegal operation of motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.

Police reported on May 6 at 8:52 p.m. officers were dispatched to the area of Bridge Street for a suspicious motor vehicle. During the investigation, police reported, officers located the accused vehicle and observed the accused driving over the double yellow line on Meadow Street. Police reported officers initiated a motor vehicle stop and discovered that the accused was operating the motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol. Police reported it was later found that the accused was in possession of a controlled substance. The accused was held on a $15,000 surety bond and scheduled to appear at Waterbury Superior Court on May 7.

Daphney T. Mathews, 33, of 3195 East Main St., Mohegan Lake, N.Y., was charged May 6 with five counts of first-degree failure to appear and two counts of second-degree failure to appear.

Police reported on May 6 at approximately 10:59 p.m. officers were dispatched to a residence on a report of a female asking for a ride. Upon arrival, police reported, officers spoke with the accused. Police reported a criminal background check on the accused revealed she had seven active PRAWN warrants and an extraditable warrant from New York. The accused was held on bonds totaling $4,000 and scheduled to appear at Waterbury Superior Court on May 7.

Brandon Gatling, 27, of 7 Hawkin St. Apt. 3, Waterbury, was charged May 7 with violation of probation.

Police reported on May 7 the accused turned himself in on an active violation of probation (PRAWN) warrant. The accused was released on a $25,000 surety bond and scheduled to appear at Waterbury Superior Court on July 7.

Angela Marie Ruggiero, 40, of 66 North Main St., Beacon Falls, was charged May 7 with drinking whole driving and illegal operation of motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.

Police reported on May 7 at 7:07 p.m. the accused was found passed out in her vehicle in the parking lot of the Family Dollar store on New Haven Road. Upon further investigation, police reported, it was determined that the accused was intoxicated. The accused was released on a $1,000 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on July 7.

Kevin Kenmeugne, 23, of 30 Day St., Norwalk, was charged May 8 with illegal possession of large capacity magazine, criminal impersonation, carrying pistol without a permit, illegal alteration of firearm identification mark, number or name, second-degree forgery, stealing firearm, criminal possession of pistol/revolver, four counts of first-degree failure to appear and three counts of second-degree failure to appear.

Police reported on May 8 at approximately 2:48 a.m. officers responded to 39 Horton Hill Road for noise complaint/possible fight. Through further investigation, police reported, officers searched a residence and a stolen firearm was recovered. Police reported the accused was taken into custody. Police reported the accused while on scene provided officers with a false name. Police reported it was later determined through fingerprinting that the name the accused gave was not his name. Police reported once this was determined the accused was found to have seven PRAWN re-arrest warrants. The accused was held on bonds totaling of $1,005,000 and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on May 10.

Andrew M. Lang, 28, of 139 Lewis St. Apt. 23, Naugatuck, was charged May 9 with disorderly conduct.

Police reported on May 8 at approximately 11 p.m. officers were dispatched to a report of a verbal altercation. Upon arrival, police reported, the victim stated the accused pushed the victim and ripped the victim’s shirt. Through the investigation, police reported, it was determined a physical altercation took place. The accused was released on a $500 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear at Waterbury Superior Court on May 10.

Rowan Nickle, 54, 73 Eastwood St., Bridgeport, was charged May 10 with driving wrong way-divided highway, operating motor vehicle without a license and illegal possession of weapon in motor vehicle.

Police reported on May 10 the accused was stopped by officers on routine patrol when he was observed driving in the opposing lane of traffic in the area of Cherry Street. During the course of this motor vehicle stop, police reported, it was discovered that the accused had a large kitchen style butcher knife in the vehicle. The accused was released on a $10,000 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear at Waterbury Superior Court on July 12.

Dominique Ruff, 26, of 154 Prospect St. Apt. 2, Naugatuck, was charged May 10 with sixth-degree larceny.

Police reported on May 10 the accused was caught shoplifting at Walmart by asset protection. The accused was given a misdemeanor summons and released on scene with a promise to appear at Waterbury Superior Court on June 23.

Amy Leigh Capozzi, 36, of 950 Baldwin St., Waterbury, was charged May 12 with conspiracy to commit second-degree failure to appear, second-degree failure to appear and first-degree failure to appear.

Police reported on May 12 the accused was brought in by bail enforcement on an active PRAWN warrants. Total bonds were set at $350,000 and the accused was scheduled to appear in court on May 13.

Danielle R. LeBlanc, 51, of 483 Spring St., Naugatuck, was charged May 12 with disorderly conduct.

Police reported on May 12 at 11:27 a.m. officers were dispatched to an address in Naugatuck for a domestic dispute. Police reported investigation revealed domestic violence had occurred. The accused was released on a $10,000 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear at the Waterbury Superior Court on May 13.

Roberto Vazquez, 39, of 129 Donna Lane Apt. A, Naugatuck, was charged May 12 with violation of protective order.

Police reported on May 12 at 4:16 p.m. officers responded to an ambulance call. Police reported it was discovered that the accused had three full no-contact protective orders. The accused was released on a $10,000 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on May 13.

Tabytha Dehart, 34, of 129 Lewis St., Naugatuck, was charged May 12 with possession of controlled substance or more than half ounce of cannabis.

Police reported on May 12 an officer conducted a motor vehicle investigation on Union City Road. During the course of the investigation, police reported, the accused was found to be in possession of narcotics. The accused was released on a $2,500 bond and scheduled to appear at Waterbury Superior Court on June 30.

Anthony Maye, 25, of 380 Main St., Waterbury, was charged May 12 with improper use of marker, license or registration, failure to display plates/inserts, extradition arrest no warrant, failure comply with fingerprint requirements and interfering with an officer/resisting.

Police reported on May 12 the accused was the operator of a motor vehicle, which was stopped on South Main Street for motor vehicle violations. Police reported the accused had no identification and gave officers a false name. After making numerous attempts to identify the operator, police reported, it was determined the operator had a full extraditable arrest warrant for a probation violation stemming from an armed robbery case in Maryland.
