Naugatuck police recently filed the following charges:

Paul Dasilva Vigario, 40, of 326 South St., Middlebury, was charged Feb. 15 with disorderly conduct.

Police reported on Feb. 15 at about 2:51 p.m. officers were dispatched to a residence for a reported domestic dispute. Through the course of the investigation, police reported, the officer determined the accused had been involved in a physical altercation where he placed the victim in a headlock. The accused was released on a $500 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Feb. 16.

Tyler Thomas Williams, 26, of 7 Carmel St., Waterbury, was charged Feb. 15 with possession with intent to sell, possession of controlled substance or more than half ounce of cannabis, illegal possession of weapon in motor vehicle, traffic control signals and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Police reported on Feb. 15 at 9:39 p.m. officers conducted a motor vehicle stop on South Main Street near the Mobile gas station. During the course of the investigation, police reported, the accused was identified as the operator of the motor vehicle. Police reported the accused was found to be in possession of illicit drugs, drug paraphernalia and a steak knife. The accused was released on a $1,000 surety bond and scheduled to appear in
Waterbury Superior Court on March 31.

Calvin C. McNeil, 50, of 107 Carmel St., New Haven, was charged Feb. 16 with sixth-degree larceny.

Police reported on Feb. 16 officers were dispatched to Walmart, 1100 New Haven Road, on a report of a shoplifting from the store. Police reported loss prevention advised that they observed the accused illegally conceal $109.48 worth of merchandise and exit the store without paying for items. The accused was released on $2,500 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on March 31.

Sharell Petrice Allen, 31, of 123 Harris Circle Apt. 2A, Waterbury, was charged Feb. 16 with sixth-degree larceny.

Police reported on Feb. 16 officers were dispatched to Walmart, 1100 New Haven Road, on a report of a shoplifting from the store. Police reported loss prevention advised that they observed the accused illegally conceal $338.62 worth of merchandise and exit the store without paying for items. The accused was released on $2,500 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on March 31.

Christopher Tedesco, 33, of 59 Academy Hill Road, Derby, was charged Feb. 17 with fifth-degree larceny and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Police reported on Feb. 17 officers were dispatched to Walmart, 1100 New Haven Road, on a report of a shoplifting from the store. Police reported loss prevention advised that they observed the accused illegally conceal $836 worth of merchandise and exit the store without paying for items. The accused was released on a promise to appear and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on March 4.

Oswaldo Ortiz, 55, of 36 Pine St., Naugatuck, was charged Feb. 17 with fourth-degree sexual assault.

Police reported on Feb. 17 at 3:50 p.m. officers were dispatched to Walmart, 1100 New Haven Road, for a reported sexual harassment incident between coworkers. During the investigation, police reported, it was determined the accused allegedly inappropriately touched a female employee. The accused was released on a $10,000 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on March 10.

Steven Sokolowski, 31, of 9 Ridge Road U3, Naugatuck, was charged Feb. 18 with first-degree failure to appear and interfering with an officer/resisting.

Police reported on Feb. 18 at 1:59 officers were on patrol in the area of Lantern Park. Police reported the accused was arrested as a result of a motor vehicle investigation, where he was the passenger, and had an outstanding PRAWN arrest warrant. Police reported the accused was arrested for interfering with an officer because he attempted to mislead officers by impersonation of another. The accused was held on a $10,000 surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Feb. 18.

Wayne Scott, 29, of 176 Charles St., Waterbury, was charged Feb. 19 with sixth-degree larceny.

Police reported on Feb. 19 officers were dispatched to Walmart, 1100 New Haven Road, on a report of a shoplifting from the store. Police reported loss prevention advised that they observed the accused illegally conceal $275.85 worth of merchandise and exit the store without paying for items. The accused was released on a promise to appear and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on March 31.

Mary Luz Pino, 41, of 24 Hickory St., Waterbury, was charged Feb. 19 with third-degree larceny, sixth-degree larceny and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Police reported on Feb. 19 officers were dispatched to Walmart, 1100 New Haven Road, on a report of a shoplifting from the store. Police reported loss prevention advised that they observed the accused illegally conceal $212.53 worth of merchandise and exit the store without paying for items. Police reported the accused was also in possession of a stolen motor vehicle out of Waterbury and drug paraphernalia. The accused was released on $5,000 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on March 31.

Clariza Nieves, 42, of 55 Baldwin St., Waterbury, was charged Feb. 19 with possession of controlled substance or more than half ounce of cannabis and sixth-degree larceny.

Police reported on Feb. 19 officers were dispatched to Walmart, 1100 New Haven Road, on a report of a shoplifting from the store. Police reported loss prevention advised that they observed the accused illegally conceal $122.59 worth of merchandise and exit the store without paying for items. Police reported the accused was also in possession of narcotics. The accused was released on a promise to appear and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior court on March 31.

Lawrence J. Allen, 31, of 77 Manners Ave., Naugatuck, was charged Feb. 20 with illegal operation of motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs, operating/towing unregistered motor vehicle and falsify marker, license or registration.

Police reported on Feb. 20 at 12:59 a.m. officers observed the accused asleep behind the wheel of a vehicle on Manners Avenue. Through investigation, police reported, it was discovered the accused was operating while under the influence of alcohol. The accused was released on a $1,000 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on April 1.

Gregory L. Grant, 49, of 933 Rubber Ave. Apt. 6N, Naugatuck, was charged Feb. 20 with illegal operation of motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs, drinking while driving, improper turn/stop signaling and failure to keep right.

Police reported on Feb. 20 at approximately 3:33 a.m. the accused was stopped in the area of Rubber Avenue Extension while operating his vehicle for failure to keep right and improper use of signal. During the course of the motor vehicle investigation, police reported, it was determined the accused was under the influence of alcohol. The accused was released on a $5,000 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on March 25.

Nicholas Andrew Boland, 23, of 19 Cranston Ave., Shelton, was charged Feb. 20 with sixth-degree larceny and conspiracy to commit sixth-degree larceny.

Police reported on Feb. 20 the accused was arrested on an active arrest warrant. Police reported the warrant was from an incident that was reported to the Naugatuck
Police Department on Oct. 28, 2020, which involved the accused. Through investigation, police reported, the accused attempted to steal items from Big Y Supermarket, 85 Bridge St. The accused was released on a $1,000 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on March 19.

Valerie A. Landry, 36, of 1368 Meriden Road Apt. 10, Waterbury, was charged Feb. 20 with third-degree criminal mischief and disorderly conduct.

Police reported on Feb. 20 the accused was arrested on an active domestic arrest warrant. Police reported the arrest warrant was issued due to the accused engaging in violent activity, which also caused damage to the victim’s property. The accused was released on a $1,000 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Feb. 22.

Chad Weed, 34, of 16 Hampton Village Drive, Granby, was charged Feb. 20 with three counts of possession of controlled substance or more than half ounce of cannabis and illegal operation of motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.

Police reported on Feb. 20 at approximately 2:59 p.m. police received a complaint that the accused was driving through the Radnor Avenue neighborhood asking residents where the BIG E was located and how to get there. Police reported the accused was located, stopped and found to be in possession of numerous different illicit narcotics including heroin, cocaine and amphetamines. Police reported the accused was found to be operating under the influence of drugs. The accused was held on a $10,000 surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Feb. 22.

Michael Ethan Hopkins, 35, of 112 Old Belden Hill Road, Norwalk, was charged Feb. 20 with disorderly conduct.

Police reported on Feb. 20 the accused was arrested on an active arrest warrant. Police reported the warrant was from a domestic violence incident where the victim was pushed. The accused was released on a $2,500 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Feb. 22.

Romulo Palmeira Fernandes, 33, of 57 Meadow St. Apt. 4, Naugatuck, was charged Feb. 21 with illegal operation of motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs and improper fender, backup and identification lamps.

Police reported on Feb. 21 at 1:18 a.m. an officer conducted a motor vehicle stop in the area of New Haven Rd and Osborn Road. Through investigation, police reported, officers determined the operator to be under the influence. The accused was released on a $500 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on March 31.

Troop I reported the following charges recently filed in Beacon Falls and Prospect:

Angel Luis Delgado, 41, of 66 Rimmon Hill Road, Beacon Falls, was charged Feb. 8 with second-degree breach of peace and third-degree assault.

Ruth Burritt, 66, of 238 Pent Road, Beacon Falls, was charged Feb. 9 with disorderly conduct and third-degree assault.
