Naugatuck police recently filed the following charges:

Makai Zhaquan Curry, 20, of 39 Horton Hill Road Apt. 3A, Naugatuck, was charged Jan. 15 with violation of restraining order, third-degree assault, second-degree threatening, interfering with an officer/resisting, second-degree assault, first-degree unlawful restraint and disorderly conduct.

Police reported on Jan. 15 at approximately 1 a.m. officers responded to a residence on a report of a domestic dispute. Police reported it was discovered through the investigation that the accused became involved in an argument with the victim that escalated and became physical when, according to multiple witnesses, the accused punched the victim in the face repeatedly. The accused was held on a $100,000 surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Jan. 19.

Cristian Eddy Feliciano, 20, of 155 South St. Apt. 3, Waterbury, was charged Jan. 15 with possession of controlled substance or more than a half ounce of cannabis, possession with intent to sell, failure to have headlamps, operating/towing an unregistered motor vehicle, operating motor vehicle without license, illegal operation of motor vehicle without minimum insurance, violation of readable/lost plates requirements and improper use of marker, license or registration.

Police reported on Jan. 15 at approximately 4:41 p.m. an officer conducted a motor vehicle investigation on North Church Street. During the course of the investigation, police reported, the accused was found to be in possession of marijuana packaged for individual sale. Police reported the accused was also charged with multiple motor vehicle charges. The accused was released on a $2,500 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on March 3.

Taylor Bentz, 26, of 45 Delay Road, Harwinton, was charged Jan. 16 with sixth-degree larceny and conspiracy to commit sixth-degree larceny.

Police reported on Oct. 15, 2020, at approximately 3:32 p.m. officers were dispatched to Big Y for a larceny complaint. After further investigation, police reported, it was revealed that the accused committed the act and a warrant was submitted for his arrest. Police reported on Jan. 15 officers responded to Troop L, where the accused was being held. The accused was released on a $5,000 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear at Waterbury Superior Court on Feb. 17.

David Brian Barraco, 33, of 69 Coen St., Naugatuck, was charged Jan. 17 with possession of controlled substance or more than a half ounce of cannabis, use of motor vehicle without permission, sixth-degree larceny, simple trespass and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Police reported on Jan. 17 officers responded to a stolen purse and motor vehicle complaint. Police reported it was reported that the accused stole the victim’s purse and then took the victim’s vehicle. Police reported a short while later the accused returned home. The accused left prior to officers’ arrival, police reported, and was located in the immediate area. Police reported the accused was found to be in possession of narcotics. The accused was released on a $5,000 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear at Waterbury Superior Court on March 3.

Diane Miller, 57, of 8 Raindance Circle, Naugatuck, was charged Jan. 17 with possession of controlled substance or more than a half ounce of cannabis, use of motor vehicle without permission, possession of drug paraphernalia and illegal operation of motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.

Police reported on Jan. 17 at approximately 5:15 p.m. an officer initiated a motor vehicle stop in the area of Raindance Circle and Morning Dove Road. Through the officer’s investigation, police reported, the accused was arrested for driving while under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs, and while in possession of a narcotic substance. The accused was released on a $5,000 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Feb. 24.

George Vassallo, 29, of 52 Walnut St., Naugatuck, was charged Jan. 17 with criminal impersonation, second-degree breach of peace and two counts of violation of probation.

Police reported on Jan. 17 officers responded to two males fighting outside of a residence. Police reported the accused was located and placed under arrest once it was learned that he was involved in the fight. Police reported the accused was also found to have two active violation of probation warrants and attempted to provide a false name to officers on scene to prevent being arrested for the warrants. The accused was held on bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Jan. 19.

Lawrence J. Allen, 31, of 77 Manners Ave., Naugatuck, was charged Jan. 17 with second-degree breach of peace and interfering with an officer/resisting.

Police reported on Jan. 17 at approximately 8 p.m. Officers responded to two males fighting outside of a residence. Police reported the two males were located and placed under arrest once it was learned that they were they were the ones fighting. The accused was held on a $5,000 surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Feb. 24.
