Naugatuck police recently filed the following charges:

Charles Parent, 40, of 144 Highland Ave., Naugatuck, was charged Dec. 31 with third-degree assault and disorderly conduct.

Police reported on Dec. 31 at approximately 4:15 a.m. officers responded to a residence on a report of a domestic dispute. Police reported it was discovered through the investigation that the accused became involved in an argument with the victim over their relationship. Police reported the victim stated the argument escalated and became physical when, according to the victim, the accused grabbed her arm and forcefully squeezed it. The accused was held on a $5,000 surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Dec. 31.

Mario Alves Rodrigues, 49, of 43 Bayberry Road, Prospect, was charged Jan. 1 with illegal operation of motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs, interfering with an officer/resisting, failure to drive in proper lane.

Police reported on Jan. 1 at approximately 1:17 a.m. an officer was conducting routine traffic patrol traveling eastbound on Prospect Street when the officer observed a vehicle traveling westbound begin to swerve into the eastbound lane. Police reported the vehicle swerved over the double yellow line multiple times and a motor vehicle investigation was conducted on Prospect Street. Police reported it was determined through the investigation that the accused was driving under the influence. After advising the accused he was under arrest, police reported, the accused refused to be placed in handcuffs. After numerous verbal commands, police reported, the accused was placed under arrest without further incident. The accused was released on a $2,500 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear at the Waterbury Superior Court on Feb. 18.

Charles Parent, 40, of 144 Highland Ave., Naugatuck, was charged Jan. 1 with first-degree criminal trespass, violation of protective order, second-degree assault and disorderly conduct.

Police reported on Jan. 1 at approximately 9:42 a.m. officers responded to a residence on a report of a domestic dispute. Through the investigation, police reported, it was determined the accused was in violation of a protective order by going to the residence of the protected person. Police reported the accused also assaulted another victim while at the residence. The accused was released on a $25,000 surety bond and scheduled to appear at Waterbury Superior Court on Jan. 4.

Charles Konavage, 58, of 30 Melissa Court, Naugatuck, was charged Jan. 3 with disorderly conduct.

Police reported on Jan. 3 at approximately 10:06 a.m. officers were dispatched to a report of a domestic dispute at an undisclosed location in Naugatuck. Upon arrival, police reported, the accused was seen removing Christmas decorations from his residence. Police reported the accused was involved in an argument with the victim because the accused felt they were being taken advantage of. The accused was released on a $5,000 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Jan. 4.

Jose Wilson Velez, 59, of 230 Perkins Ave. Apt. 7, Waterbury, was charged Jan. 3 with illegal operation of motor vehicle under suspension and illegal possession of weapon in motor vehicle.

Police reported on Jan. 3 at approximately 4:09 p.m. an officer initiated a motor vehicle investigation in the area of 100 Prospect St. Through the officer’s investigation, police reported, the accused was found to be in possession of a weapon and operating a motor vehicle under suspension. The accused was released on a $5,000 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Feb. 24.

Jamie Lynn Kilburn, 39, of 16 Hemlock Road, Naugatuck, was charged Jan. 3 with illegal operation of motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs, failure to drive in proper lane and evading responsibility-injury/property damage.

Police reported on Jan. 3 at approximately 7 p.m. police received a complaint of a motorist who left the scene of a motor vehicle accident. Upon further investigation, police reported, the accused was located on North Hoadley Street and a motor vehicle stop was conducted. At this time, police reported, it was determined the accused did in fact cause property damage to another vehicle while both, the accused and the complainant, were traveling on Church Street. Police reported the accused did not stop and evaded the scene of the accident. Police reported it was also determined that the accused was operating while under the influence of alcohol. The accused was released on a $2,500 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Feb. 17.
