Naugatuck police recently filed the following charges:

Alejandro Prosper, 36, of 15 Millis St. Fl. 2, Hamden, was charged Dec. 14 with illegal operation of motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs, possession with intent to sell, possession of controlled substance or more than half ounce of cannabis, failure to drive in proper lane and failure to obey stop sign.

Police reported on Oct. 18 at 10:30 p.m. officers were dispatched to 124 Meadow St. to investigate a motor vehicle crash. During the investigation, police reported, officers submitted a warrant for DWI and narcotics charges for the accused. The accused was released on a $25,000 surety bond and scheduled to appear at Waterbury Superior Court on Jan. 20.

Daniel Oler, 49, of 2148 Seaview Ave., Bridgeport, was charged Dec. 15 with third-degree burglary and second-degree criminal mischief.

Police reported on Dec. 15 the accused was arrested on an active arrest warrant at Waterbury Superior Court. Police reported the warrant was from an incident where the accused caused damage to and burglarized a building. The accused was held on bond to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Dec. 15.

Wilfredo Plaza, 37, of 101 Ridge Road Unit 1, Naugatuck, was charged Dec. 15 with disorderly conduct.

Police reported on Dec. 15 at approximately 8:34 p.m. officers responded to a residence in Naugatuck for the report of a domestic violence incident. Police reported the accused was arrested after an investigation into claims that he assaulted the victim after an argument ensued. Police reported the victim suffered minor injuries. The accused was released on a $500 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Dec. 16. Police reported the accused was released on specific conditions barring him from contact with the victim or her family.

Shaquasia Jackson, 29, of 304 Scott St. Apt. 2, Naugatuck, was charged Dec. 16 with sixth-degree larceny.

Police reported on Dec. 16 officers responded to Wal-Mart, 1100 New Haven Road, for a reported shoplifting incident. Police reported the accused was observed by loss prevention personnel not scanning items at the self-checkout and trying to leave store without paying. Police reported the total of the merchandise was valued at $181.49. The accused was released on a written promise to appear at Waterbury Superior Court on Feb. 3.

Peter Martonick, 52, of 18 Baldwin St., Naugatuck, was charged Dec. 16 with two counts of violation of probation, two counts of disorderly conduct, three counts of third-degree assault, first-degree failure to appear, improper use of marker, license or registration, two counts of illegal operation of motor vehicle without minimum insurance, two counts of reckless driving, two counts of operating/towing unregistered motor vehicle, engaging police in pursuit and traffic control signals.

Police reported on Dec. 16 at 11:16 a.m. the accused was observed traveling on City Hill Street with improper registration plates on his vehicle. Police reported the accused was later located at his home and arrested for insufficient insurance, operating an unregistered motor vehicle, and reckless driving. Police reported the accused was also arrested on active warrants, including one from an incident where the accused engaged police in pursuit in February. The accused was held on bonds and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Dec. 18.

Thomas James Owen, 24, of 21 Locke St., Ansonia, was charged Dec. 16 with sixth-degree larceny and conspiracy to commit sixth-degree larceny.

Police reported on Dec. 16 at approximately 11:20 a.m. the accused turned himself in to the Naugatuck Police Department on an active arrest warrant. Police reported the warrant stemmed from a shoplifting investigation where the accused stole multiple items from Big Y Supermarket on Bridge Street. The accused was released on a $500 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Jan. 27.

Domonique Denise Robinson, 35, of 49 Harper Ave., New Haven, was charged Dec. 16 with sixth-degree larceny.

Police reported on Dec. 16 at 2:45 p.m. officers responded to Wal-Mart, 1100 New Haven Road, a reported shoplifting. Through further investigation, police reported, officers determined the accused and an accomplice stole 46 items totaling approximately $317.82. The accused was issued a misdemeanor summons and released on a promise to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Feb. 10.

Latasha Tyreese Ford, 42, of 175 Mill Pond Road 345, Hamden, was charged Dec. 16 with sixth-degree larceny.

Police reported on Dec. 16 at 2:45 p.m. officers responded to Wal-Mart, 1100 New Haven Road, a reported shoplifting. Through further investigation, police reported, officers determined the accused and an accomplice stole 46 items totaling approximately $317.82. The accused was issued a misdemeanor summons and released on a promise to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Feb. 10.

Adam Charles Shepherd, 24, of 11 Fairfield Court, Naugatuck, was charged Dec. 16 with third-degree assault and disorderly conduct.

Police reported on Dec. 16 at 7:14 p.m. an officer responded to a residence in Naugatuck on a reported domestic violence incident. Police repotted the accused was arrested after an investigation into claims that he struck the victim with his fist after an argument ensued. Police reported the victim suffered minor injuries. The accused was released on a promise to appear and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Dec. 18.
