Naugatuck police recently filed the following charges:

William G. McGrath, 38, 18 Chestnut St., Shelton, was charged Dec. 7 with second-degree failure to appear.

Police reported on Dec. 7 the accused turned himself in on an active PRAWN warrant from an incident which occurred on Aug. 31, 2020. Police reported officers responded to a residence on a report of a domestic dispute. It was discovered through the investigation, police reported, that the accused became involved in an argument with the victim that escalated and became physical when, according to the victim, the accused kicked him in the mouth, causing minor injury. The accused being was held on a court-set $500 surety bond and scheduled to appear at Waterbury Superior Court on Dec. 7.

Walvin Oliver Gilling, 61, of 151 Millville Ave., Naugatuck, was charged Dec. 7 with disorderly conduct.

Police reported on Dec. 7 the accused turned himself in on an active domestic violence warrant stemming from an incident on Nov. 28, 2020, where he allegedly pushed a female victim during an argument. The accused was released on a $2,500 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court.

Matthew Miner, 27, of 552 Hillside Ave., Naugatuck, was charged Dec. 8 with three counts of violation of probation.

Police reported on Dec. 8 at approximately 3 p.m. the accused was arrested on three PRAWN warrants for violation of probation. The accused was released on a $500 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear at Waterbury Superior Court on Jan. 13.

Amber L. Leblanc, 40, of 24 Wolcott Hill Road, Wethersfield, was charged Dec. 8 with fifth-degree larceny and violation of probation.

Police reported on Dec. 8 at approximately 9:09 p.m. officers were dispatched to Walmart, 1100 New Haven Road, for a reported larceny. Through officers’ investigation, police reported, it was determined the accused and an accomplice stole 67 items totaling $758.13. The accused also had a PRAWN warrant out of Torrington. The accused was held on a $1,000 surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Dec. 9.

Frank Juan, 56, of 42 Clark St., Torrington, was charged Dec. 8 with fifth-degree larceny.

Police reported on Dec. 8 at approximately 9:09 p.m. officers were dispatched to Walmart, 1100 New Haven Road, for a reported larceny. Through officers’ investigation, police reported, it was determined the accused and an accomplice stole 67 items totaling $758.13. The accused was issued a misdemeanor summons and released on a promise to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Feb. 3.

Brandon Jones, 29, of 18 Nettleton Ave., Naugatuck, was charged Dec. 9 with illegal possession of weapon in a motor vehicle, carrying a dangerous weapon and criminal possession of a firearm.

Police reported on Dec. 9 at 1:45 a.m. officers observed a vehicle traveling south on Bridge Street and turn left onto North Church Street without signaling the turn. A motor vehicle stop was then initiated. Through the course of investigation, police reported, the accused, a passenger in motor vehicle and a felon, was found to be in possession of a pellet gun. The accused was held on a $50,000 surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Dec. 9.

Stacy L. Palmieri, 52, of 938 Highland Ave., Waterbury, was charged Dec. 9 with sixth-degree larceny.

Police reported on Dec. 9 at 1:45 p.m. an officer was dispatched to Walmart, 1100 New Haven Road, for a shoplifting incident. Upon arrival, police reported, the accused was located in the asset protection office with an asset protection associate. Through the investigation, police reported, the accused was found to have concealed items and also not pay for all the items in her shopping cart while going through the self-checkout aisle. The accused was released on a written promise to appear and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Jan. 27.

Eden Victoria Mcken-Hunt, 55, of 48 Clark St., Ansonia, was charged Dec. 9 with sixth-degree larceny.

Police reported on Dec. 9 at 3:54 p.m. officers responded to Walmart for a shoplifting complaint. Through further investigation, police reported, officers determined the accused stole 34 items, totaling $364.68. The accused was issued a misdemeanor summons with a promise to appear and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Feb. 3.

Terri Lynn Peabody, 52, of 30 Martha St., Seymour, was charged Dec. 9 with sixth-degree larceny and second-degree failure to appear.

Police reported on Dec. 9 at 5 p.m. officers responded to Walmart for a shoplifting complaint. Through further investigation, police reported, officers determined the accused stole $119.31 worth of merchandise. Through further investigation, police reported, officers determined the accused had an outstanding PRAWN warrant for failure to appear. The accused was released on bonds totaling $650 and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Feb. 3.

Francis James Delaney, 61, of 53 Conrad St. 2b, Naugatuck, was charged Dec. 10 with illegal operation of motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs, drinking while driving, operating/owning motor vehicle with out-of-state plate and traveling unreasonably fast.

Police reported on Dec. 10 at approximately 7:38 p.m. the accused was stopped by officers after receiving information regarding an incident that occurred in Southington. Police reported the accused was determined to be intoxicated and was subsequently arrested. The accused was released on a $500 surety and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Jan. 7.

Ryan P. Hurley, 37, of 97 Ridge Road Apt. 2, Naugatuck, was charged Dec. 10 with second-degree failure to appear.

Police reported on Dec. 10 at approximately 9 p.m. the accused was arrested on an active failure to appear (PRAWN) arrest warrant. The accused was released on a court-set $150 cash bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Feb. 3.

Michelle Margaret Bucci, 39, of 517 Spring St. Apt. B, Naugatuck, was charged Dec. 11 with cruelty to persons.

Police reported on Dec. 11 the accused was arrested on an active arrest warrant. Police reported the warrant was from an incident where the accused treated the victim in a cruel manner. The accused was held on a court-set $10,000 surety bond and scheduled to appear to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Dec. 14.

Brandon W. Whitman, 32, of 35 Driftwood Drive, Charlestown, R.I., was charged Dec. 13 with violation of protective order.

Police reported on Dec. 13 at approximately 2:30 p.m. the accused was arrested on an active arrest warrant. Police reported the warrant was from a domestic incident where the accused attempted to contact the victim via social media, which was in violation of an active protective order. The accused was held on a $10,000 surety bond and scheduled to appear at Waterbury Superior Court on Dec. 14.

Cody A. Walker, 29, of 151 Andrew Ave. Apt. 102, Naugatuck, was charged Dec. 13 with illegal operation of motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs, improper turns and failure to drive in proper lane.

Police reported on Dec. 13 at 6:22 p.m. the accused was stopped for motor vehicle violations on New Haven Road. During the investigation, police reported, the accused was determined to be under the influence of alcohol. The accused was released on a $2,500 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear at the Waterbury Superior Court on Jan. 21.
