Naugatuck police recently filed the following charges:
Lawrence J. Allen, 31, of 77 Manners Ave., Naugatuck, was charged Nov. 16 with third-degree burglary and sixth-degree larceny.
Police reported on Nov. 16 at 6 a.m. the accused was arrested on an active warrant being held out of the Naugatuck Police Department. Police reported the warrant was from an incident on Oct. 22, 2020, where it was discovered the accused broke into a vehicle and stole items from it. The accused was held on a $10,000 surety bond and scheduled to appear at Waterbury Superior Court on Nov. 16.
Makai Zhaquan Curry, 20, of 1150 Pembroke St. Apt. 3A, Bridgeport, was charged Nov. 16 with interfering with an officer/resisting and disorderly conduct.
Police reported on Nov. 16 the accused was arrested on a warrant stemming from an incident which occurred on Oct. 17, 2020, on Horton Hill Road. Through investigation, police reported, officers found the accused was involved in a physical altercation and then provided false information. The accused was released on a promise to appear and scheduled to appear at Waterbury Superior Court on Dec. 16.
Eric Shamak Baldwin, 30, of 27 Bradley St., North Haven, was charged Nov. 17 with illegal operation of motor vehicle under suspension and two counts of third-degree larceny.
Police reported on Nov. 17 the accused was arrested on an active arrest warrant. Police reported the warrant was issued after the accused stole a vehicle from the Xpress Mart, 620 North Church St. The accused was held at court for his scheduled appearance at Waterbury Superior Court on Nov. 17.
Daniel Akinsanya, 30, of 38 Highland Ave. 204, Naugatuck, was charged Nov. 17 with third-degree burglary, fourth-degree larceny, sixth-degree larceny and two counts of violation of protective order.
Police reported on Nov. 17 the accused was arrested on an active domestic arrest warrant. Police reported the warrant was issued due to the accused breaking into the victim’s home and stealing multiple items. The accused was issued a $25,000 bond and held at court for his scheduled appearance at Waterbury Superior Court on Nov. 17.

Jonathan Espada-Santiago, 28, of 46 Carrol St., Naugatuck, was charged Nov. 17 with violation of protective order.
Police reported on Nov. 17 at approximately 4:15 p.m. the accused was a passenger in a vehicle during a motor vehicle stop. During the course of the investigation, police reported, the accused was found to have a full no-contact protective order with the juvenile in the back seat. The accused was scheduled to appear at Waterbury Superior Court on Nov. 18.
Francis Scott Keen, 66, of 18 Barnum Court, Naugatuck, was charged Nov. 17 with second-degree breach of peace, loitering in or about school and public indecency.
Tanya Lashawn Perry, 48, of 234 Slate St., Hamden, was charged Nov. 18 with sixth-degree larceny.
Police reported on Nov. 18 at 1:04 p.m. officers were dispatched to 1100 New Haven Road (Walmart) for a larceny. Through investigation, police reported, it was learned the accused failed to purchase $269.83 worth of merchandise and past all points of sale without paying. The accused was released on a promise to appear and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Dec. 16.
April Granda, 43, of 58 North Main St. Apt. 3, Beacon Falls, was charged Nov. 18 with fifth-degree larceny, possession of drug paraphernalia, three counts of possession of controlled substance or more than half ounce of cannabis, three counts of possession of less than half ounce of cannabis and three counts of illegal operation of motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.
Police reported on Nov. 18 at approximately 8:30 p.m. officers were dispatched to Walmart for a shoplifting complaint. Through officers’ investigation, police reported, it was determined the accused stole $626.54 worth of merchandise. The accused was released on a $750 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Jan. 13. Through officers’ investigation, police reported, it was determined the suspect had a warrant from a previous incident that occurred on Aug. 27, 2020, for driving under the influence and other drug charges. The accused was released on a promise to appear and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Jan. 13.
