Naugatuck police recently filed the following charges:

Lawrence J. Allen, 31, of 77 Manners Ave., Naugatuck, was charged Sept. 28 with possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of controlled substance and criminal attempt third-degree burglary.

Police reported on Sept. 28 at approximately 1 a.m. officers responded to the area of Nixon Avenue on the report of an individual attempting to break into vehicles. Police reported officers located the accused fitting the provided description walking nearby. Through the officer’s investigation and witness testimony, police reported, the accused was placed under arrest. Police reported the officer’s investigation also led to the discovery of LSD and drug paraphernalia on the accused’s person. The accused was released on a $5,000 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Nov. 4.

Antonio Neves, 60, of 763 Nyack Lane Apt. B, Stratford, was charged Sept. 29 with two counts of first-degree sexual assault, second-degree sexual assault, four counts illegal sexual contact with a victim under the age of 16 and three counts of second-degree unlawful restraint.

Police reported on Sept. 29 the accused came to the Naugatuck Police Department to surrender on an active arrest warrant. The accused was held on a $250,000 surety bond and scheduled to appear at Waterbury Superior court on Sept. 30.

Edward C. Fullam, 33, of 105 Coen St. 3Fl., Naugatuck, was charged Sept. 30 with four counts of third-degree criminal mischief.

Police reported on Sept. 30 the accused was arrested on an active arrest warrant. Police reported the warrant was from an incident in which the accused spray painted graffiti. The accused was released on a promise to appear and scheduled to appear at Waterbury
Superior Court on Nov. 4.

Nicholas Verity, 32, of 37 Ranchwood Drive, West Haven, was charged Sept. 30 with violation of probation.

Police reported on Sept. 30 at approximately 8:07 p.m. the accused surrendered to Naugatuck police on an active arrest warrant. The accused was released on a $25,000 court-set surety bond and scheduled to appear in Bridgeport Superior Court on Oct. 28.

Troop I reported the following charges recently filed in Beacon Falls and Prospect:

Sidney M. Aviz, 49, of 140 Union City Road, Prospect, was charged Oct. 4 with disorderly conduct and third-degree assault.
