Naugatuck police recently filed the following charges:

Angelika Bakota, 21, of 114 Winibig Trail, Shelton, was charged Sept. 21 with second-degree breach of peace.

Police reported on Sept. 21 the accused turned herself in to the Naugatuck Police Department on an active arrest warrant. Police reported the accused was charged for an incident that occurred on Aug. 22, 2020, outside a residence on Carroll Street where the accused apparently threw an object at a vehicle after a verbal argument. The accused was released on a promise to appear and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Sept. 30.

Lisa Lawton, 61, of 264 Spencer St., Naugatuck, was charged Sept. 22 with second-degree harassment and second-degree breach of peace.

Police reported on Sept. 22 an officer served an active arrest warrant on the accused who was located at her residence. Police reported the warrant was issued due to an ongoing harassment issue over the past month. Police reported the accused would verbally harass and send harassing letter to the victim. The accused was released on a $1,000 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear at Waterbury Superior Court on Oct. 21.

Cesar Irizarry-Caraballo, 24, of 155 Spring Brook Road, Waterbury, was charged Sept. 22 with sixth-degree larceny.

Police reported on Sept. 22 at approximately 2:14 p.m. an officer was dispatched to Walmart, 1100 New Haven Road, for a report of theft from the store. Police reported Walmart loss prevention reported they observed the accused exit the store with $276 worth of unpaid merchandise. The accused was released on a promise to appear and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on. Oct. 21.

Alfred Anzalone III, 28, of 12 Noble St., West Haven, was charged Sept. 22 with third-degree assault and second-degree breach of peace.

Police reported on Sept. 22 the accused was arrested on an active arrest warrant. Police reported the warrant was from an incident where the accused assaulted another victim while at a park on or about Sept. 13, 2020. The accused was released on a $1,000 non-surety bond to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Nov. 5.

Steven Omar Capers, 24, of 371 Ward St., Wallingford, was charged Sept. 22 with possession of controlled substance or more than half ounce of cannabis, operating/towing unregistered motor vehicle, illegal operation of motor vehicle under suspension and improper use of marker, registration or license.

Police reported on Sept. 22 at about 10 p.m. officers were dispatched to Ida Street for a suspicious vehicle. Through the course of the investigation, police reported, the officers found illegal narcotics and motor vehicle violations. The accused was released on a $5,000 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Oct. 28.

Ashley Tod Ellison-rios, 28, of 32 Cook Ave., Meriden, was charged Sept. 23 with illegal operation of motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs and operating motor vehicle without license.

Police reported on Sept. 23 at approximately 5:17 a.m. officers observed a white Volvo driving erratically in the Mobil gas station on South Main Street. Police reported the driver then parked in a parking spot, and did not leave the vehicle for approximately 10 minutes. Police reported officers made contact with the vehicle and observed the accused sleeping in the driver’s seat, and the passenger sleeping in the passenger seat. Police reported officers smelled a strong odor of alcohol emanating from the breath of the accused. Police reported the accused performed field sobriety tests, which she failed. The accused was later released on a $500 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear in
Waterbury Superior Court on Oct. 15.

Elizabeth J. Hanson, 29, of 25 Beecher St., Seymour, was charged Sept. 24 with illegal operation of motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs, reckless driving and failure to drive in proper lane.

Police reported on Sept. 24 at 1:58 a.m. officers observed a vehicle traveling southbound on Route 8 failing to maintain a lane. Police reported a motor vehicle stop was initiated and through the officer’s investigation it was learned the accused was operating while under the influence alcohol and/or drugs. The accused was released on a $500 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Nov. 5.

Joshua Charles Clossick, 27, of 96 Coen St., Naugatuck, was charged Sept. 25 with violation of protective order.

Police reported on Sept. 25 at 2:42 p.m. officers responded to a complaint regarding an incident at a construction site. Police reported it was discovered during the investigation that the accused had an active, no-contact protective order with the victim. The accused was released on a $3,000 surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Sept. 28.

Edward Valentine, 52, of 109 Marthas Way, Thomaston, was charged Sept. 26 with disorderly conduct.

Police reported on Sept. 26 the accused was arrested after physically grabbing the hand of another customer at Retail 101 during a sale event. Police reported the accused then grew hostile with employees when the accused was asked to leave the store. The accused left the scene prior to police arrival. Police reported the accused was located in Thomaston and arrested. The accused was released on a promise to appear and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Oct. 28.

Jessica Currier, 44, of 49 Edwards Road, Bethany, was charged Sept. 26 with sixth-degree larceny.

Police reported on Sept. 26 officers were dispatched to Walmart, 1100 New Haven Road, for a shoplifting complaint. Police reported the accused was arrested after loss prevention personnel observed her conceal multiple items totaling $172.22 and exit the store without paying. The accused was released on a promise to appear and scheduled to appear at Waterbury Superior Court on Oct. 21.

Kenneth Michael Belanger, 57, of 39 Waterbury Road Apt. A2, Prospect, was charged Sept. 26 with possession of controlled substance or more than half ounce of cannabis and illegal operation of motor vehicle under suspension.

Police reported on Sept. 26 at about 2:18 p.m. officers were dispatched to an unconscious person in a car on North Main Street. Police reported upon arrival the officers located the accused asleep in the driver’s seat of his vehicle. Through the course of the investigation, police reported, it was determined that the accused had ingested narcotics and also had narcotics in his possession. The accused was released on a $5000 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Oct. 21.

Joshua E. Morales, 30, of 76 Coe Ave., East Haven, was charged Sept. 27 with violation of protective order, interfering with an emergency call, first-degree burglary and disorderly conduct.

Police reported on Sept. 27 at approximately 12:31 a.m. members of the Naugatuck Police Department investigated an incident involving the accused who was determined to have violated an active protective order. As a result of the investigation, police reported, the accused was determined to have gone to the residence of the protected party and unlawfully gained entry where a physical altercation ensued. During the altercation, police reported, the protected party attempted to dial 911 but was interrupted by the accused. The accused was released on a $100,000 surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Sept. 28.
