Naugatuck police recently filed the following charges:

William G. McGrath, 38, of 18 Chestnut St., Shelton, was charged Aug. 31 with disorderly conduct.

Police reported on Aug. 31 at about 4:45 p.m. officers responded to a residence on a report of a domestic dispute. Police reported it was discovered through the investigation that the accused became involved in an argument with the victim that escalated and became physical when, according to the victim, the accused kicked him in the mouth, causing minor injury. The accused was released on a $2,500 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Sept. 1.

Angel Sanchez, 31, of 300 Schraffts Drive A102, Waterbury, was charged Sept. 1 with third-degree assault, disorderly conduct and second-degree failure to appear. He was charged Sept. 4 with violation of protective order.

Police reported on Sept. 1 at about 11:10 a.m. officers responded to a residence for a reported domestic dispute. Police reported it was discovered through the investigation that the accused became involved in an argument with the victim that escalated and became physical when, according to the victim, the accused punched the victim in the face. Police reported the accused fled the residence but was later located. Police reported the accused was arrested on an active failure to appear (PRAWN) arrest warrant. The accused was processed and held on surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Sept. 2.

Police reported on Sept. 4 at approximately 10 a.m. officers responded to a Naugatuck residence for a report of the accused not being allowed at the residence. Through the officer’s investigation, police reported, the accused was at the residence and had a no-contact protective order with the victim who resides there. Police reported the accused was located at the residence and taken into custody. The accused was held on a $50,000 surety bond to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Sept. 8.

David Michael Grabinski, 32, of 104 Bowman Drive, Naugatuck, was charged Sept. 1 with third-degree assault and disorderly conduct.

Police reported on Sept. 1 the accused turned himself in to the Naugatuck Police Department on an active arrest warrant. Police reported the accused was processed for the listed charges, which stemmed from an incident that occurred on April 4, 2020, in which the accused had a verbal argument with an adult female. Police reported the accused became physical which left a scratch and bruising on the victim. The accused was released on a $2,500 bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Sept. 2.

Kristopher Harriman, 42, of 49 Union St., New Britain, was charged Sept. 2 with fifth-degree larceny.

Police reported on Sept. 2 the accused was arrested while at Waterbury Superior Court on an active warrant from a shoplifting incident that occurred on Feb. 15, 2020. Police reported the accused stole wireless routers and a vacuum with a total value of $760 and fled prior to police arrival. The accused was held for arraignment.

George L. Colon, 41, of 82 Indian Neck Ave., Branford, was charged Sept. 2 with violation of protective order.

Police reported on Sept. 2 the accused was arrested while at Waterbury Superior Court on an active arrest warrant from an incident that occurred on May 16, 2020, where the accused was found to be in violation of a protective order. The accused was held for arraignment.

Joshua Markiewicz, 18, of 87 Worcester Ave., Waterbury, was charged Sept. 2 with reckless driving, engaging police in pursuit, illegal operation of motor vehicle without minimum insurance, improper use of marker, license or registration, operating/towing an unregistered motor vehicle, operation of motor vehicle without a license, improper turn and driving wrong way on one-way street.

Police reported on Sept. 2 the accused turned himself in to police on an outstanding arrest warrant for motor vehicle violations. Police reported the arrest stemmed from an incident in May where officers tried to conduct a motor vehicle stop for traffic violations and the accused refused to stop. The accused was released on a $10,000 non-surety bond and given a court date of Oct. 8 in Waterbury Superior Court.

Damon A. Gallant, 33, of 66 Carroll St., Naugatuck, was charged Sept. 3 with violation of protective order.

Police reported on Sept. 3 at about 11:30 a.m. the accused was arrested at Waterbury Superior Court on an arrest warrant. Police reported the charges stemmed from an incident that happened on Aug. 30, 2020, at about 8:20 p.m. when the accused violated a protective order. The accused was released on a court-set $10,000 surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Sept. 4.

Tiarah Marie Johnson, 25, of 221 Longhill Road Fl1, Waterbury, was charged Sept. 4 with sixth-degree larceny and conspiracy to commit sixth-degree larceny.

Police reported on Sept. 4 at approximately 6:10 p.m. officers were dispatched to Walmart for a report of a shoplifting. Police reported it was determined that the accused did not pay for $287.01 worth of merchandise and attempted to leave the store. Police reported the accused was apprehended by asset protection. The accused was issued a summons and released on a promise to appear in Waterbury Superior Court Oct. 7.

Tashima M. Johnson, 53, of 174 Willow St. C8, Waterbury, was charged Sept. 4 with sixth-degree larceny and conspiracy to commit sixth-degree larceny.

Police reported on Sept. 4 at approximately 6:10 p.m. officers were dispatched to Walmart for a report of a shoplifting. Henry Reyes, 37, of 10 Aetna St. Apt. 2, Naugatuck, was charged Sept. 6 with illegal operation of motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.

Police reported on Sept. 6 at approximately 5:40 a.m. officers responded to 105 Scott St. for a noise complaint. Police reported officers found the accused slumped over the steering wheel with his head leaning on the horn causing it to go off non-stop. Police reported officers attempted to wake the accused by yelling and knocking on the vehicle’s window. Police reported the accused remained unresponsive and the vehicle was locked. Concerned the accused was having a medical emergency, police reported, officers broke the window of the vehicle and woke him. Police reported the accused was found to be intoxicated and under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs. The accused was released on a $2,500 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Oct. 21.

James T. Craig, 58, of 1285 New Haven Road, Naugatuck, was charged Sept. 6 with first-degree reckless endangerment, first-degree threatening, disorderly conduct and illegal discharge of a firearm.

Daniel Sousa, 30, of 687 Beacon Valley Road, Naugatuck, was charged Sept. 7 with disorderly conduct, third-degree assault, second-degree assault-victim elderly or other, first-degree strangulation, first-degree reckless endangerment and second-degree threatening.

Police reported on Sept. 7 at approximately 10:22 p.m. officers were dispatched to a domestic disturbance between two parties who were actively fighting with a knife involved. Through the officers’ investigation, police reported, it was determined the accused and victim had become involved in an argument that escalated when the accused brandished a knife. Police reported this led to a struggle and the victim was placed in a choke hold by the accused. Police reported it was determined neither the accused or victims suffered any injuries from the knife, however, both suffered minor injuries from the altercation. The accused was held on a $25,000 surety bond to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Sept. 8.

Alliyah Alecia Scott, 18, of 461 Spring St. Apt. 4D, Naugatuck, was charged Sept. 9 with second-degree threatening.

Police reported on Sept. 9 the accused was arrested on an active domestic arrest warrant. Police reported the warrant stemmed from an incident which occurred on Aug. 21, 2020, where the accused reportedly threatening a family member. The accused released on a
$2,500 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Sept. 10.

Brendan M. Burns, 32, of 1073 Augusta Drive, Oxford, was charged Sept. 11 with violation of protective order.

Police reported on Sept. 11 the accused was arrested on an active domestic arrest warrant. Police reported the accused was located by Naugatuck police, Oxford police, and CSP Troop A at a residence in Oxford. The accused was transported to the Naugatuck Police Department for processing. The accused was released on a court-set $25,000 surety bond and scheduled to appear at Waterbury Superior Court on Sept. 14.

Zaquawn Arrington, 21, of 84 Hurlburt St., New Haven, was charged Sept. 12 with first-degree burglary and third-degree larceny.

Police reported on Sept. 12 the accused was arrested on an active arrest warrant. Police reported the warrant was from a residential burglary reported to Naugatuck police on May 18, 2020, where two dirt bikes and other items were stolen from a garage in the early morning hours while occupants were asleep in the home. The accused was released on a $100,000 court-ordered surety bond and scheduled to appear at Waterbury Superior Court on Oct. 7.

Joselito Gonzalez, 47, of 148 Grand St., Waterbury, was charged Sept. 13 with third-degree assault and disorderly conduct.

Police reported on Sept. 12 at approximately 11:55 p.m. officers were dispatched to an area of Naugatuck on a report of a female screaming. Through further investigation and multiple witnesses, police reported, it was found the accused assaulted the victim. The accused was arrested released on a $10,000 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Sept. 14.

Michael Saladino, 61, of 196 High St., Naugatuck, was charged Sept. 13 with violation or protective order, first-degree criminal trespass and violation of probation.

Police reported on Sept. 13at about 8 p.m. officers responded to a residence for a medical emergency. During the course of their investigation, police reported, it was determined the accused was in violation of a court-issued protective order. The accused was released on a $10,000 surety-bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Sept. 14.

Police reported on Sept. 13 the accused was arrested on an active PRAWN warrant. The warrant was filed by Troop I, state police. The accused was held on a $25,000 court-set bond to appear at Waterbury Superior Court on Sept. 14.

Lyndell F. Bethea, 45, of 5 Ridge Road Apt. 10, Naugatuck, was charged Sept. 13 with illegal operation of motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs, illegal operation of motor vehicle under suspension, improper use of marker, license or registration, risk of injury to child, second-degree reckless endangerment, drinking while driving, illegal operation of motor vehicle without minimum insurance, operating/towing unregistered motor vehicle and transporting child under 7 or 60 pounds without proper restraint system.

Police reported on Sept. 13 the accused was stopped for motor vehicle violations. Police reported a small child was also in the vehicle that did not have the proper restraint system and the accused was operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license. Police reported further investigation showed that the operator was found to be under the influence of alcohol and or drugs. The accused was released on a $10,000 surety bond to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Nov. 18.
