Naugatuck police recently filed the following charges:

Nathan Van Blackmon, 35, of 9 Chamberlain, New Haven, was charged June 20 with possession of controlled substance, driving under the influence, interfering with an officer and drinking while driving.
During a traffic stop, police reported, officers observed that Blackmon had been drinking alcohol while operating his vehicle. Police reported Blackmon was administered and failed sobriety tests. Blackmon was resistive when being taken into custody, police reported. A small amount of marijuana was also found on Blackmon during the arrest, police reported. Blackmon was released on a $5,000 non-surety bond pending his appearance at Waterbury Superior Court on July 5.
Jennifer L. Waters, 35, of 495 Congress Ave., New Haven, was charged June 20 with sixth-degree larceny.
Police reported on June 20 at approximately 12:20 p.m. an fficer responded to Walmart for a larceny complaint. Police reported Waters stole $98.24 worth of merchandise. Waters was given a court date of June 27 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $500 surety bond.
Michael A. Korzen, 31, of 440 South Main St., Naugatuck, was charged June 20 with third-degree larceny and violation of probation.
Police reported on June 20 an officer responded to a larceny complaint. Police reported Korzen stole cash and electronic devices consisting of an iPad, two iPods and a Wii from the victim. The total value for the stolen items is $1,245, police reported. Korzen is known to the victim. Korzen was also arrested on an active arrest warrant, police reported. Korzen was given a court date of June 21 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and held on a court-set $15,000 surety bond.
Shawn Smith, 45, of 17 Whittlessey Ave., Waterbury, was charged June 20 with sixth-degree larceny.
Police reported on June 20 at approximately 3:45 p.m. Smith was arrested on an active arrest warrant. The warrant was for a larceny complaint reported on April 16, 2018 from Cumberland Farms. Police reported Smith stole $33.19 worth of Monster energy drinks. Smith was given a court date of June 27 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a promise to appear.
Meghan Jeannette Ellis, 24, of 102 Jewitt St., Naugatuck, was charged June 21 with sixth-degree larceny.
Police reported on June 21 at approximately 7:51 p.m. officers were dispatched to Walmart, 1100 New Haven Road, on a report of a shoplifting from the store.
Loss prevention advised that they observed Ellis illegally conceal items and exited the store without paying for them, police reported. Ellis was released on bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior court on June 27.
Michael W. Eliasson, 37, of 462 Mill St., Southington, was charged June 21 with two counts of violation of probation.
Police reported on June 21 Eliasson was arrested on probation violations. Eliasson was scheduled to appear at Waterbury Superior Court on June 22.
Tywonne Saunders, 24, of 96 Aetna St., Naugatuck, was charged June 23 with disorderly conduct, second-degree threatening and first-degree violation of conditions of release.
Police reported on June 23 at approximately 1:44 a.m. officers responded to 66 Church Street for a disturbance. Police reported Saunders was creating a disturbance in the bar and was asked to leave by the bar staff. Saunders became argumentative and combative towards the staff, police reported. When Saunders was escorted outside he threatened to harm the employees, police reported. Police reported Saunders was also arrested on an active arrest warrant for a violation of a protective order, which occurred on May 29, 2018. Saunders was given a court date of June 27 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on bond.
Antoine Lamont Billy, 34, of 9 Forest Hollow Road, Seymour, was charged June 23 with sixth-degree larceny.
Police reported on June 23 at approximately 1:30 p.m. an officer responded to Walmart for a larceny complaint. Police reported Billy stole merchandise from the store. He was given a court date of July 5 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $500 non-surety bond.
Ray Irvin Simmons, 37, of 268 Congress Ave. Apt. 6, was charged June 24 with driving under the influence.
Police reported on June 24 at approximately 12:12 a.m. officers responded to Meadow Street for a suspicious motor vehicle complaint. During the investigation, police reported, it was determined Simmons was operating under the influence of alcohol. Simmons was given a court date of June 25 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and held on a remand into custody by the Office of Probation.
Corbin Michael Stokes, 19, of 824 Rubber Ave., Naugatuck, was charged June 26 with third-degree larceny.
Police reported on June 26 at approximately 6:45 p.m. Stokes turned himself in on an active arrest warrant. The warrant was for a stolen motorcycle that was recovered on Aug. 31, 2017. Police reported the motorcycle was reported stolen out of East Hartford. Stokes was given a court date of July 11 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $5,000 surety bond.
