Naugatuck police recently filed the following charges:

Brandon Thompson, 37, of 327 Hoadley St., Naugatuck, was charged June 14 with driving under the influence.

Police reported an officer discovered the suspect’s vehicle parked in the middle of Hilltop Road with the driver’s door open. Police reported Thompson was given field sobriety tests, which he subsequently failed and was taken into custody for DUI. Thompson was released on a $500 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear at Waterbury Superior Court on June 28.

James J. Schmidt, 63, of 74 Melissa Lane, Prospect was charged June 14 with driving under the influence and possession of controlled substance.

Police reported on June 14 officers responded to North Spring Street for a suspicious vehicle complaint. Officers located the vehicle, police reported, and Schmidt was identified as the driver. During the investigation, police reported, it was determined Schmidt was operating under the influence of alcohol. Schmidt was given a court date of June 20 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $1,000 non-surety bond.

Rokeim Dukes, 19, of 213 Mansfield Ave., Waterbury, was charged June 14 with two counts of first-degree failure to appear and second-degree failure to appear.

Police reported on June 14 at approximately 9 a.m. Dukes was arrested on active arrest warrants. Dukes was given a court date of June 15 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and held on a $5,000 surety bond.

Elio Contreras, 64, of 66 Byrneside Ave., Apt. 2, Waterbury, was charged June 16 with driving under the influence.

The report wasn’t included in the arrest log submitted by the Naugatuck Police Department.

Tyna Mae Rodriguez, 37, of 66 Greenwood St., Naugatuck, was charged June 16 with third-degree larceny.

Police reported police were dispatched to Greenwood Street for a motor vehicle crash involving a motorcycle. Upon arrival, police discovered that Rodriguez had collided with a parked motor vehicle while operating a motorcycle, police reported. During the course of investigating the motor vehicle collision, police reported, a routine record check revealed the motorcycle was stolen out of Waterbury. Rodriguez was taken into custody for operating the stolen motorcycle and also charged with motor vehicle charges. Rodriguez was released on a $1,000 non-surety bond pending her appearance at Waterbury Superior Court on June 27.

Bianca Ruby Gomez, 25, of 30 Renwick Place, Bridgeport, was charged June 17 with violation of probation.

During the course of a motor vehicle stop, police reported, it was learned that Gomez had an outstanding arrest warrant for violation of probation. Gomez was released after posting a $5,000 bond and scheduled to appear at Derby Superior Court on June 27.

Tiffany M. Whitney, 32, of 97 Ridge Road, Naugatuck, was charged June 17 with second-degree breach of peace, third-degree assault and violation of protective order.

Police reported police were dispatched to Lantern Park for a domestic disturbance. An investigation revealed that the two persons involved were involved in a physical altercation inside their vehicle outside of their residence, police reported. Further investigation revealed that the two persons were in violation of active no contact protective orders by being in each other’s presence, police reported. Whitney was released on a $2,500 non-surety bond pending an appearance at Waterbury Superior Court on June 18.

Norman Joseph Roos, 32, of 1404 Sienna Drive, Danbury, was charged June 17 with second-degree breach of peace, third-degree assault and violation of protective order.

Police reported police were dispatched to Lantern Park for a domestic disturbance. An investigation revealed that the two persons involved were involved in a physical altercation inside their vehicle outside of their residence, police reported. Further investigation revealed that the two persons were in violation of active no contact protective orders by being in each other’s presence, police reported. Roos was released on a $10,000 bond pending an appearance at Waterbury Superior Court on June 18.

Steven Elliott, 35, of 151 Andrew Ave., Apt. 39, Naugatuck, was charged June 17 with third-degree assault and disorderly conduct.

Police reported Elliott came to police headquarters to self-report that he had been involved in a domestic disturbance. Upon locating and interviewing the victim, Elliott was subsequently placed under arrest and charged with the aforementioned charges. Elliott was released on a $5,000 non-surety bond pending a court appearance at Waterbury Superior Court on June 18.

Yokasta Rodriguez, 29, of 83 Prospect St. Apt. C6, Naugatuck, was charged June 19 with disorderly conduct.

Police reported on June 19 at approximately 1:30 a.m. officers responded to a domestic disturbance between husband and wife. During an argument, police reported, Rodriguez threw items at the victim. Rodriguez was given a court date of June 19 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $500 non-surety bond.

Tiri Sean Brown, 33, of 83 Prospect St. Apt. C6, Naugatuck, was charged June 19 with disorderly conduct.

Police reported on June 19 at approximately 1:30 a.m. officers responded to a domestic disturbance between husband and wife. During an argument, police reported, Brown pushed the victim. Rodriguez was given a court date of June 19 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $500 non-surety bond.

Nicole L. French, 33, of 33 Bachelor Oak Road, Bethany, was charged June 19 with second-degree failure to appear, possession of controlled substance, possession with intent to sell and criminal impersonation.

Police reported on June 19 police conducted a motor vehicle investigation. During the investigation, police reported, French was found to be operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license. It was further discovered that French was in possession of illegal narcotics/controlled substances, police reported. During the investigation, police reported, it was determined French was wanted on an active arrest warrant. French was released on bond on the listed and scheduled to appear at Waterbury Superior Court.

John Chacho, 26, of 182 North Main St., Naugatuck, was charged June 19 with possession of controlled substance.

Police reported on June 19 at approximately 12:08 p.m. officers conducted a motor vehicle investigation. During the investigation, police reported, Chacho was found to be in possession of narcotics. Chacho was given a court date of June 27 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $5,000 non-surety bond.

Anthony R. Sullivan, 36, of 124 Coen St., Naugatuck, was charged June 19 with sixth-degree larceny.

Police reported on June 19 Sullivan was arrested on an active arrest warrant stemming from a larceny incident that occurred on or about Dec. 19, 2017. During that incident, police reported, Sullivan became involved in a larceny incident when he was discovered to have a work ladder valued at about $70 in his possession. The ladder was seen pawned by Sullivan, police reported. Sullivan was released and scheduled to appear at Waterbury Superior Court on June 27.

Milon Azaniah Jesse Burnell, 30, of 6600 Browns Mill Ferry Drive, Lithonia, Ga., was charged June 19 with sixth-degree larceny.

Police reported on June 19 at approximately 5:43 p.m. officers were dispatched to Walmart on a report of a shoplifting from the store. Loss prevention advised that they observed Burnell illegally conceal $64.40 worth of items and exited the store without paying for them, police reported. Burnell was released on bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on June 27.
