The Naugatuck Police Department reported the following arrests:

MICHAEL LAUDATE, 31, of 1815 Bacons bridge Road, Summerville, was charged July 11 with driving under the influence.

Police reported on July 11 at approximately 8:25 p.m. an officer conducted a motor vehicle investigation on Cherry Street. During the investigation, police reported, it was determined Laudate was operating under the influence of alcohol. Laudate was given a court date of July 12 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and held on a $1,000 surety bond.

JOHN LATANOWICH, 43, of 213 Melbourne St., Naugatuck, was charged July 12 with evading responsibility.

Police reported on July 12 at approximately 12:39 p.m. Latanowich turned himself in on an active arrest warrant. The warrant was for an evading motor vehicle accident reported on May, 6, 2016 on Rubber Avenue. Police reported Latanowich struck an unoccupied parked vehicle and drove away from the scene. Latanowich was given a court date of July 21 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $500 non-surety bond.

LUIS BURGOS JR., 21, of 16 Lines Hill St., Naugatuck, was charged July 12 with second-degree threatening, second-degree harassment and second-degree breach of peace.

Police reported on July 12 at approximately 6:40 p.m. Burgos was arrested on an active arrest warrant. The warrant was for a threatening complaint reported earlier in the day. Police reported Burgos made threatening statements regarding a police officer in a post on a social media site. Burgos was given a court date of July 13 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and held on a court-set $10,000 surety bond.

DAVID HILL, 57, of 182 Higginum Road, Durham, was charged July 13 with sixth-degree larceny.

Police reported on July 13 at approximately 12:41 p.m. Hill turned himself in on an active arrest warrant. The warrant was for a larceny complaint made on May 13, 2016 of a horse. Police reported Hill was boarding the victim’s horse at stables he maintains. The victim, the owner of the horse, stopped paying Hill for boarding the horse, police reported. Hill sold the horse without the owner’s consent, police reported. Hill was given a court date of July 20 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a promise to appear.

JENNIE SHAPPY, 44, of 191 Aetna St., Naugatuck, was charged July 14 with violation of probation.

Police reported on July 14 Shappy was arrested on three active arrest warrants. Shappy was scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on July 15.

ROBERT HANSON, 23, of 38 Curtiss St., Naugatuck, was charged July 15 with driving under the influence.

Police reported on July 15 Hanson was stopped and observed to be operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and or drugs. Hanson was scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on July 28.

AMIE DROWN, 31, of 146 Phoenix Ave., Naugatuck, was charged July 15 with second-degree failure to appear.

Police reported on July 15 Drown was arrested on an active arrest warrant. The warrant was for a violation of failing to appear in court. Drown was scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on July 27.

VICTORIA VAZQUEZ, 41, of 403 Sylvan Ave., Waterbury, was charged July 15 with sixth-degree larceny.

Police reported on July 15 police were dispatched to Walmart on New Haven Road on a report of a shoplifting. Police reported Vazquez was observed by loss prevention leaving the store with unpaid items. Vazquez was scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on July 27.

HUGO MERCADO, 39, of 403 Sylvan Ave., Waterbury, was charged July 15 with sixth-degree larceny.

Police reported on July 15 police were dispatched to Walmart on New Haven Road on a report of a shoplifting. Police reported Mercado was observed by loss prevention leaving the store with unpaid items. Mercado was scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on July 27.

JOHN MUSOLINO, 73, of 112 Ward St., Naugatuck, was charged with issuing a bad check.

Police reported on June 27 police investigated a bad check complaint. It was discovered through the investigation that Musolino issued two rent checks while having insufficient funds in the bank account used to issue the checks in the amount of $1,250 each, police reported. Musolino was scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on July 27.

JOSHUA C. THOMAS, 26, of 17 Guernsey Lane, New Milford, was charged July 16 with driving under the influence, reckless driving: not greater than 85 mph, evading responsibility motor vehicle, possession/use of drug paraphernalia and second-degree reckless endangerment.

Police reported on July 16 Thomas was arrested on an active arrest warrant stemming from a June 16, 2016 incident. During the incident, police reported, Thomas was driving erratically on Cherry Street and almost struck Officer Carl Schaaf, who was directing traffic. The vehicle then ran into a police car operated by Officer John Julian on Cherry Street, police reported. Thomas was scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on July 27.

DANIEL BEATTY, 52, of 8 Hemlock Road, Naugatuck, was charged July 16 with possession of controlled substance: narcotics.

Police reported on July 16 Beatty was stopped for a motor vehicle violation and during the course of the investigation it was discovered that he was in possession of narcotics. Beatty was scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on July 27.

MELANIE FARRELL, 53, of 76 Svea Ave., Naugatuck, was charged July 17 with sixth-degree larceny.

Police reported on July 17 Farrell was arrested on an active arrest warrant stemming from a July 6, 2016 incident. During the incident, police reported, Farrell was observed by Big Y loss prevention leaving the store with items she did not purchase totaling $97.93. Farrell was scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on July 27.

MICHAEL FRADETTE, 49, of 38 Kent St., Naugatuck, was charged July 17 with third-degree burglary and sixth-degree larceny.

Police reported on July 17 at about 2:15 p.m. officers were dispatched to 58 High St. on a report of a suspicious party going through a vehicle. The vehicle that was victimized was found to be missing about $1.29 in change. Police reported Fradette was identified as the person going through the vehicle and was arrested. Fradette was scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on July 18.

ROBERT PERAZZINI, 28, of Willow Street, Waterbury, was charged July 17 with sixth-degree larceny.

Police reported on July 17 Perazzini was observed by Big Y loss prevention leaving the store with items he did not purchase. Perazzini was scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on July 27.
