The Naugatuck Police Department reported the following arrests:

CANCEL CARMELO JR., 22, of 188 Spring Brooke Road, Waterbury, was charged March 31 with third-degree larceny, conspiracy to commit third-degree larceny and possession of burglar’s tools.

Police reported on May 31 at approximately 2:13 a.m. officers responded to Prospect Street for a report of a person coasting down the street on a motorcycle with no lights on. An officer located Cancel sitting in a vehicle on Golden Hill Street. Police reported the motorcycle which was stolen from a residence on Prospect Street, was located in a parking lot on Golden Hill Street. Oscar Crespo and Angel Quiros were also found walking in the area, police reported. During the investigation, police reported, it was determined the three men were involved in the theft of the motorcycle. Cancel was given a court date of May 31 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and held on a $50,000 surety bond.

ANGEL QUIROS, 26, of 14 Woodlawn Terrace, Waterbury, was charged March 31 with third-degree larceny and conspiracy to commit third-degree larceny.

Police reported on May 31 at approximately 2:13 a.m. officers responded to Prospect Street for a report of a person coasting down the street on a motorcycle with no lights on. OSCAR CRESPO, 20, of Waterbury, was charged March 31 with third-degree larceny and conspiracy to commit third-degree larceny.

YVON CYR, 59, of 704 New Haven Road, Naugatuck, was charged May 31 with disorderly conduct.

Police reported on May 31 at approximately 6:48 a.m. officers responded to 704 New Haven Road for a domestic disturbance between brothers. Police reported Cyr pushed the victim. Cyr was given a court date of May 31to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and held on a $500 surety bond.

JESSICA CHANDLER, 29, of 383 Rubber Ave., Naugatuck, was charged May 31 with violation of probation/conditional discharge.

Police reported on May 31 at approximately 3 p.m. Chandler was arrested on an active arrest warrant. Chandler was given a court date of June 1 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and held on a court-set $25,000 surety bond.

JASON HANSON, 35, of 129 Beacon Valley Road, Beacon Falls, was charged June 1 with third-degree forgery and sixth-degree larceny.

Police reported on June 1 at approximately 4:44 p.m. Hanson was arrested on an active arrest warrant. The warrant was for a larceny complaint made on March 16, 2016. The victim hired an exterminator company to do work at her home. Hanson, an employee of the exterminator business, altered a billing invoice for an additional $150, police reported. Hanson was given a court date of June 15 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $1,000 non-surety bond.

RICKY BELTRAN, 27, of 234 Plaza Ave., Waterbury, was charged June 2 with third-degree assault, first-degree unlawful restraint, second-degree strangulation, second-degree criminal mischief and second-degree harassment.

Police reported on June 2 at approximately 1 a.m. Beltran was arrested on an active arrest warrant. The warrant is for a domestic disturbance reported on May 26, 2016 between former boyfriend and girlfriend. Police reported Beltran arrived at the victim’s home and assaulted her. Police reported Beltran wrapped his arm around the victim’s neck and also punched her. Beltran left the home after the assault, police reported. Beltran was given a court date of June 2 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and held on a court-set $150,000 surety bond.

Police reported on June 2 at approximately 1 a.m. Beltran was arrested on an active arrest warrant. The warrant is for a vandalism reported on May 28, 2016. Police reported Beltran arrived at the victim’s home and punctured tires to her vehicles. Beltran damaged three tires in total, police reported. Beltran was given a court date of June 2 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and held on a court-set $50,000 surety bond.

JOSEPH GAGNE, 23, of 201 Sunnyside Ave., Waterbury, was charged June 2 with second-degree failure to appear.

Police reported on June 2 at approximately 2:04 a.m. Gagne was arrested on an active arrest warrant. Gagne was given a court date of June 15 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a court-set $1,000 surety bond.

EVAN KAMMERER, 31, of 2 Chestnut St., Salem, was charged June 3 with driving under the influence, possession of controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Police reported on June 3 at approximately 2:53 a.m. an officer conducted a motor vehicle investigation on New Haven Road. During the investigation, police reported, it was determined Kammerer was operating while impaired. Police reported Linda Barboza was a passenger in the vehicle and Kammerer was identified as the driver. During the investigation, police reported, it was determined they were in possession of narcotics. Barboza was found to be in possession of heroin, police reported. Kammerer was in possession of cocaine, police reported. Kammerer was given a court date June 16 and he was released on a $1,000 non-surety bond.

LINDA BARBOZA, 40, of 14 Obrien Drive, Branford, was charged June 3 with possession of controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Police reported on June 3 at approximately 2:53 a.m. an officer conducted a motor vehicle investigation on New Haven Road. Police reported Barboza was a passenger in the vehicle and Evan Kammerer was identified as the driver. During the investigation, police reported, it was determined they were in possession of narcotics. Barboza was found to be in possession of heroin, police reported. Kammerer was in possession of cocaine, police reported. Barboza was given a court date of June 15 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $5,000 non-surety bond.

ERICA LABRADOR, 31, of 530 Eastern St., New Haven, was charged June 3 with sixth-degree larceny.

Police reported on June 3 at approximately 3:35 p.m. officers responded to Walmart for a larceny complaint. Police reported Labrador and Sanjuana Suarez taped a different bar code to a box of pots and pans. They went to a self-checkout register where the pots and pans scanned for $7.96 instead of the real price of $129, police reported. Labrador was given a court date of June 15 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $500 non-surety bond.

SANJUANA SUAREZ, 34, of 4 Jackson St., Bridgeport, was charged June 3 with sixth-degree larceny.

Police reported on June 3 at approximately 3:35 p.m. officers responded to Walmart for a larceny complaint. Police reported Suarez and Erica Labrador taped a different bar code to a box of pots and pans. They went to a self-checkout register where the pots and pans scanned for $7.96 instead of the real price of $129, police reported. Suarez was given a court date of June 15 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $500 non-surety bond.

NICOLE SHELDON, 27, of 47 Lewis Circle, Naugatuck, was charged June 3 with possession of controlled substance and use of drug paraphernalia.

Police reported on June 3 at approximately 5:39 p.m. an officer observed Sheldon and Gary Larowe walking near the train tracks on Elm Street. During the investigation, police reported, it was determined they were in possession of crack cocaine, smoking pipes and marijuana. Sheldon was given a court date of June 15 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $1,000 non-surety bond.

GARY LAROWE, 51, of 732 New Haven Road, Naugatuck, was charged June 3 with possession of controlled substance and use of drug paraphernalia.

Police reported on June 3 at approximately 5:39 p.m. an officer observed Nicole Sheldon and Larowe walking near the train tracks on Elm Street. During the investigation, police reported, it was determined they were in possession of crack cocaine, smoking pipes and marijuana. Larowe was given a court date of June 15 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $1,000 non-surety bond.

EDWARD WHARMBY, 20, of 8 Pond St., Naugatuck, was charged June 3 with risk of injury to child, third-degree assault and breach of peace.

Police reported on June 3 at approximately 8:17 p.m. officers responded to Central Avenue School for a disturbance. Police reported the victim was using the playground area with other juveniles when Wharmby swore at one of the juveniles. The victim approached Wharmby, police reported, and at that time Wharmby punched the victim in the shoulder and face. Wharmby was given a court date of June 6 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and held on a $5,000 surety bond.

MICHAEL ELIASSON, 35, of 38 Highland Ave., Naugatuck, was charged June 4 with disorderly conduct and violation of protective order.

Police reported on June 4 at approximately 5:33 a.m. officers responded to 351 High St. for a domestic disturbance between former boyfriend and girlfriend. During the investigation, police reported, it was determined Eliasson violated an active protective order. Police reported Eliasson contacted the victim through text messaging and arrived at her home. Eliasson was given a court date of June 6 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $10,000 surety bond.

SALVATORE SALERNO, 45, of 41 Chapel Hill Road, Sherman, was charged June 4 with two counts of home improvement fraud.

Police reported on June 4 at approximately 11:24 a.m. Salerno was arrested on an active arrest warrant. Salerno was given a court date of June 15 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $2,500 surety bond.

GIORGIO DASILVA, 25, of 44 Bushnell Ave., Watertown, was charged June 4 with failure to respond to payable violation and driving under the influence.

Police reported on June 4 at approximately 8:33 p.m. an officer conducted a motor vehicle investigation on Maple Street. During the investigation, police reported, it was determined Dasilva was operating under the influence of alcohol. Dasilva was given a court date of June 6 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and held on a $1,000 surety bond.

Police reported on June 4 at approximately 8:33 p.m. Dasilva was arrested on an active arrest warrant. Dasilva was given a court date of June 6 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and held on a court-set $286 cash bond.

DANIEL WHITENER, 23, of 56 Cooper St., Torrington, was charged June 5 with sixth-degree larceny.

Police reported on June 5 at approximately 9:50 p.m. an officer responded to Walmart for a larceny complaint. Police reported Whitener stole a package of weight loss capsules and a Pepsi valued at $61.70. Whitener was given a court date of June 6 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and held on a $2,500 surety bond.
