Naugatuck police recently filed the following charges:

Sammy Acosta Jr., 39, of 23 Orchard Terrace, Naugatuck, was charged Oct. 11 with second-degree failure to appear.

Police reported on Oct. 11 the accused was arrested on an active failure to appear (PRAWN) arrest warrant. The accused was released on a $150 cash or surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court at a later date.

Roger Romero, 28, of 73 Pleasant St., Waterbury, was charged Oct. 11 with two counts of second-degree failure to appear.

Police reported on Oct. 11 the accused was arrested on active failure to appear (PRAWN) arrest warrants. The accused was released on bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Oct. 23.

Irene Paulina Maturo, 33, of 199 Allerton Road, Naugatuck, was charged Oct. 12 with illegal operation of motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs, reckless driving and evading responsibility-injury/property damage.

Police reported an officer initiated a motor vehicle investigation in the area of 570 South Main St. Through the officer’s investigation, police reported, the accused was found to be recklessly operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license while under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs, evading a motor vehicle accident and while failing to drive in the proper lane. The accused was released on $1,000 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Oct. 23.

Christopher Wolynski, 40, of 36 Locust St., Naugatuck, was charged Oct. 12 with failure to respond to infraction.

Police reported on Oct. 12 the accused was arrested on an active failure to respond to an infraction arrest warrant. The accused was released on a $35 cash bond and scheduled to appear in New Haven Superior Court on Oct. 24.

Cheryl Washington, 42, of 933 Rubber Ave. Apt. 9M, Naugatuck, was charged Oct. 12 with use of motor vehicle without permission.

Police reported on Oct. 12 the accused was arrested on an active arrest warrant. Police reported the warrant was from an incident where the accused used a motor vehicle without permission on or about Aug. 16, 2019. The accused was released on a $2,500 non-surety bond to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Oct. 23.

Robert Robinson, 49, of 1087 North Colony Road, Meriden, was charged Oct. 12 with interfering with an officer, criminal impersonation, reckless driving and engaging police in pursuit.

Police reported on Oct. 13 the accused was arrested on an active arrest warrant. Police reported the warrant was from an incident where the accused recklessly engaged officers in pursuit on or about June 26, 2019. The accused was released on a $10,000 surety bond to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Oct. 24.

Duran Ellis, 23, of 135 Elise Drive, Waterbury, was charged Oct. 13 with drinking while driving and illegal operation of motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.

Police reported on Oct. 13 at approximately 12:16 a.m. an officer initiated a motor vehicle investigation in the area of Bridge Street and North Church Street. Through the officer’s investigation, police reported, the accused was found to be drinking while driving while operating under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs. The accused was released on $500 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Oct. 24.

Joseph Michael Hannigan, 32, of 86 New St., Shelton, was charged Oct. 13 with illegal operation of motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs and possession of controlled substance or more than half ounce of cannabis.

Police reported on Oct. 13 at approximately 5 p.m. an officer initiated a motor vehicle investigation in the area of Route 8 South at North Main Street. Through the officer’s investigation, police reported, the accused was found to be in possession of a controlled substance, and to be operating under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs. The accused was released on $10,000 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Oct. 23.

Tiger Lily Erickson, 29, of 86 New St. 1, Shelton, was charged Oct. 13 with possession of controlled substance or more than half ounce of cannabis.

Police reported on Oct. 13 at approximately 5 p.m. an officer initiated a motor vehicle investigation in the area of Route 8 South at North Main Street. Through the officer’s investigation, police reported, the accused was found to be in possession of a controlled substance. The accused was later released on $5,000 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Oct. 23.

Evan Toms, 23, of 68 Morris St., Naugatuck, was charged Oct. 14 with failure to respond to infraction.

Police reported on Oct. 14 the accused was arrested on an active failure to respond to an infraction arrest warrant. The accused was released on a $100 cash bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Oct. 30.

Michael Jon Yacavone, 59, of 25 Crofut Road, Naugatuck, was charged Oct. 14 with illegal operation of motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.

Police reported on Oct. 14 at approximately 2 a.m. an officer initiated a motor vehicle investigation in the area of 718 Rubber Ave. Through the officer’s investigation, police reported, the accused was found to be operating under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs while failing to drive in the proper lane. The accused was released on $500 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Oct. 31.

Christopher Hicks, 23, of 69 Highland Ave., Naugatuck, was charged Oct. 14 with third-degree assault, disorderly conduct and second-degree threatening.

Police reported on Oct. 14 at approximately 1:47 p.m. officers responded to a report of a domestic dispute. Police reported it was discovered through the investigation that the accused became involved in an argument with the victim that escalated and became physical when, according to the victim, the accused grabbed and scratched the victim. The accused was released on a $1,500 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Oct. 15.

Angel Sanchez, 30, of 108 Clark Road Apt. 30, Naugatuck, was charged Oct. 14 with second-degree failure to appear.

Police reported on Oct. 14 the accused was arrested on an active failure to appear (prawn) arrest warrant. The accused was held on a $5,000 surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Oct. 15.

Marcel Paul Carpenter, 44, of 22 Park Lane, Waterbury, was charged Oct. 15 with violation of probation.

Police reported on Oct. 15 the accused was arrested on a probation violation. The accused was released on a $50,000 surety bond and scheduled to appear at Waterbury Superior Court on Oct. 30.

David Rodriguez, 34, of 1655 Post Road East, Westport, was charged Oct. 16 with second-degree failure to appear and interfering with an officer/resisting.

Police reported on Oct. 16 at approximately 1:25 a.m. an officer initiated a motor vehicle investigation in the area of Cross Street. Through the officer’s investigation, police reported, the accused was found to be operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, and interfered with the officer’s investigation by giving the wrong name. The accused was held on a $5,000 surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Oct. 16. Police reported the accused was also arrested on an active failure to appear (PRAWN) arrest warrant. The accused was released on a $3,000 surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Oct. 16.

Donovan Bosque, 37, of 90 Park St., New Haven, was charged Oct. 16 with violation of probation and violation of standing criminal protective order.

Police reported on Oct. 16 the accused was arrested on an active arrest warrant. The warrant was from a violation of protective order that was reported to the Naugatuck Police Department on July 2, 2019. Police reported the accused was also arrested on a probation violation. The accused was held on surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Oct. 16.

John M. Hanas, 29, of 35 Marlboro St., Waterbury, was charged Oct. 16 with two counts of violation of probation.

Police reported on Oct. 16 the accused was arrested on probation violations. The accused was held on surety bond and scheduled to appear at Waterbury Superior Court on Oct. 16.

David Louis Roberts, 43, of 1 Cross St., Naugatuck, was charged Oct. 16 with violation of protective order and second-degree harassment.

Police reported on Oct. 16 at approximately 11:30 p.m. officers responded to the area of High Street on a violation of a protective order complaint. Police reported the accused was intoxicated when officer’s arrived on scene. Police reported it was discovered through the investigation that the accused was in violation of a protective order by being at the residence of the protected person. The accused was held on a $1,000 surety bond to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Oct. 17.

Eric John Pemberton, 39, of 1081 New Haven Road Apt. 1E, Naugatuck, was charged Oct. 17 with possession of drug paraphernalia.

Police reported on Oct. 17 at approximately 9:33 a.m. an officer initiated a motor vehicle investigation on New Haven Road. Through the officer’s investigation, police reported, the accused was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia. The accused was released on a promise to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Oct. 30.

Josue Gonzalez, 35, of 93 Greystone Road Apt. B, Waterbury, was charged Oct. 17 with second-degree failure to appear.

Police reported on Oct. 17 the accused was arrested on an active failure to appear (PRAWN) arrest warrant. The accused was released on a $1,000 surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Oct. 30.

Brett Michael Crisp, 27, of O’Neil Road, Oxford, was charged Oct. 17 with sixth-degree larceny.

Police reported on Oct. 17 the accused was arrested on an active arrest warrant. The warrant was from a shoplifting incident that was reported to Naugatuck police on Jan. 3, 2019. The accused was released on a $500 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear in
Waterbury Superior Court on Oct. 30.

Maribel Rey, 35, of 66 Prospect St., Naugatuck, was charged Oct. 17 with disorderly conduct.

Police reported on Oct. 17 at approximately 11:35 a.m. officers responded to a residence on a report of a domestic dispute. Police reported it was discovered through the investigation that the accused became involved in an argument with the victim that escalated. The accused was released on $500 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Oct. 18.

Sean P. Kennedy, 22, of 26 Stanley St. 1st Floor, Naugatuck, was charged Oct. 19 with illegal operation of motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.

Police reported on Oct. 19 at approximately 1:37 a.m. officers were dispatched to a motor vehicle accident in an active construction zone in the area of Bridge Street by Spring Street. Police reported officers working the construction zone witnessed the accused drive through orange construction barriers and then collide with a large John Deer bucket truck. Through the officer’s investigation, police reported, the accused was found to be operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs. The accused was released on a $500 non-surety bond to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Oct. 30.

Shakiya Monique Womble, 29, of 49 Ridge Road. Apt. 7, Naugatuck, was charged Oct. 19 with disorderly conduct.

Police reported on Oct. 19 at approximately 1:57 a.m. officers responded to a residence on a report of a domestic dispute. Police reported it was discovered through the investigation that the accused became involved in an argument with the victim that escalated and became physical when, according to the victim, the accused scratched the victim’s face. The accused was released on a $500 non-surety bond to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Oct. 21.

Kenneth Hrywniak, 51, of 87 Violet St., Bristol, was charged Oct. 19 with violation of protective order.

Police reported on Oct. 19 at approximately 9:29 p.m. officers initiated a motor vehicle investigation in the area of 716 New Haven Road. Police reported it was discovered through the investigation that the accused was in violation of a standing protective order by being with the victim in the motor vehicle. The accused was released on a $5,000 non-surety bond to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Oct. 21.

Fatjon Zogu, 26, of 2221 Main St. Apt. 3K, Waterbury, was charged Oct. 20 with illegal operation of motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs, reckless driving and possession of controlled substance or more than half ounce of cannabis.

Police reported on Oct. 20 at approximately 1:55 a.m. an officer initiated a motor vehicle investigation in the area of Maple Street. Through the officer’s investigation, police reported, the accused was found to be recklessly operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs while in possession of marijuana. The accused was released on a $500 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Oct. 30.
