Naugatuck police recently filed the following charges:

David Christian Lavigne, 56, of 222 Bradley Ave. Apt. 7-2D, Waterbury, was charged Sept. 23 with sixth-degree larceny and possession of burglar tools.

Police reported on Sept. 23 at approximately 8:52 a.m. officers were dispatched to St. Francis of Assisi Church, 318 Church St., for a report of a larceny from a collection box. Police reported officers were advised by a witness that a subject was prying open the collection box and taking money from it. Police reported the officer located the accused sometime later based on the description given. The accused was positively identified by the witness as the person who was stealing the money from the collection box, police reported. Through the officer’s investigation, police reported, it was also found that the accused has taken money from the collection box on multiple occasions for an unknown amount of money. Police reported in this incident the accused took less than $500. The accused was released on a $500 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury
Superior Court on Oct. 2.

Deanndra Flaherty, 27, of 893 Highland Ave., Waterbury, was charged Sept. 23 with second-degree failure to appear.

Police reported on Sept. 23 the accused was arrested on an active failure to appear (PRAWN) arrest warrant. The accused was released on a $5,000 surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Oct. 2.

Tareem Rashade McCoy, 24, of 357 Grandview Ave., Waterbury, was charged Sept. 23 with two counts of second-degree failure to appear.

Police reported on Sept. 23 the accused was arrested on active failure to appear (PRAWN) arrest warrants. The accused was released on bond and scheduled to appear in Bridgeport Superior Court on Oct. 8 and Waterbury Superior Court Oct. 9.

Stephen Andrew Ruby, 58, of 122 Maple Hill Road, Naugatuck, was charged Sept. 23 with third-degree assault and second-degree breach of peace.

Police reported on Sept. 23 officers were dispatched to Big Y Supermarket, 85 Bridge St., on a report of two males arguing in the parking lot. Through the officer’s investigation and witness statements, police reported, it was found that the accused had assaulted the victim over a parking spot in the lot. Police reported the accused reached into the victim’s vehicle and tried to grab the victim to pull him out. Police reported the accused also, based on the statement from the victim, punched the victim in the face. The accused was released on a $500 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Oct. 9.

Thomas Bruzik, 65, of 55 Porter Ave 4B., Naugatuck, was charged Sept. 23 with second-degree breach of peace.

Police reported on Sept. 23 at approximately 7:58 p.m. officers were dispatched to the area of Church Street by the town Green for a suspicious person complaint. The accused was arrested on the above listed charges. The arrest report was not immediately available regarding this arrest. The accused was on a$500 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Oct. 9.

Matthew Leone, 35, of 5720 French Lace Court, North Las Vegas, Nev., was charged Sept. 24 with possession of controlled substance or more than half ounce of cannabis.

Police reported on Sept. 24 at approximately 7:46 p.m. an officer initiated a motor vehicle investigation in the area of Cherry Street by Rubber Avenue. Through the officer’s investigation, police reported, the accused was found to be operating a motor vehicle while in possession of a controlled substance. The accused was released for the listed violation.

John Santos, 20, of 62 Curtis St., Hartford, was charged Sept. 25 with third-degree burglary and second-degree larceny.

Police reported on Sept. 25 the accused was arrested on an active arrest warrant while in custody at Waterbury Superior Court. The incident was reported to Naugatuck police on May 25, 2018. The accused was held to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Sept. 25.

Maurycio Cavalcante Dasilva, 21, of 93 Oak St., Naugatuck, was charged Sept. 25 with possession of controlled substance or more than half ounce of cannabis, sale of controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and operation of drug factory.

Police reported on Sept. 25 at approximately 7:03 p.m. an officer initiated a motor vehicle investigation in the area of 93 Oak St. Through the officer’s investigation, police reported, the accused was caught doing a hand-to-hand transaction. Officers were able to retrieve items from three individuals in total, police reported, but the accused was the subject completing the sale. The accused was charged with the listed charges. The accused was released on $5,000 surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Oct. 9.

Regina Salcedo, 60, of 257 Marion St., Bridgeport, was charged Sept. 25 with third-degree larceny.

Police reported on Sept. 25 the accused was arrested on an active arrest warrant. The warrant was from a larceny incident that was reported to Naugatuck police on Aug. 29, 2019. Through the officer’s investigation, police reported, the accused stole a large amount of money from the victim through fraudulent means. The accused was held on a $10,000 surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Sept. 26.

Mehmet Kahyaoglu, 57, of 47 Mott St., Ansonia, was charged Sept. 26 with possession of controlled substance or more than half ounce of cannabis.

Police reported on Sept. 26 at approximately 12:31 p.m. an officer initiated a motor vehicle investigation in the area of Router 8 South at Exit 26. Through the officer’s investigation, police reported, the accused was found to be in possession of a controlled substance. The accused was released on a $500 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Oct. 9.

Michelle Elizabeth Deptula, 50, of 25 Lewis Circle, Naugatuck, was charged Sept. 26 with possession of controlled substance or more than half ounce of cannabis, possession of drug paraphernalia and sixth-degree larceny.

Police reported on Sept. 26 officers arrested the accused on an active arrest warrant. The warrant stemmed from a larceny incident reported to the Naugatuck Police Department on March 2, 2019. While taking the accused into custody, police reported, they found the accused was in possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia. The accused was released on a promise to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on
Oct. 2.

Mark Edward Grickis, 51, of 27 Maple Drive, Prospect, was charged Sept. 26 with illegal operation of motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs, reckless driving, disorderly conduct and drinking while driving.

Police reported on Sept. 26 at approximately 9:34 p.m. an officer initiated a motor vehicle investigation in the area of 87 Church St. Through the officer’s investigation, police reported, the accused was found to be recklessly operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs. The accused was released on $1,000 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Oct. 9.

Cindy Alejandra Guevara, 20, of 1652 Meriden Road, Waterbury, was charged Sept. 27 with second-degree failure to appear.

Police reported on Sept. 27 the accused was arrested on an active failure to appear (PRAWN) arrest warrant. The accused was released on a $2,500 surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Oct. 9.

Samantha Rosado, 30, of 1017 Meriden Road, Waterbury, was charged Sept. 27 with sixth-degree larceny.

Police reported on Sept. 27 the accused was arrested on an active arrest warrant. Police reported the warrant was from a larceny incident where the accused stole money from Friendly’s Restaurant on March 18, 2019 while she was a waitress there. The accused was released on a $500 non-surety bond to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Oct. 9.

Jeffery McCoy, 59, of 66 Prospect St. Apt. 5, Naugatuck, was charged Sept. 27 with interfering with an officer/resisting and second-degree breach of peace.

Police reported on Sept. 27 officers were dispatched to 66 Prospect St. on a noise complaint. While investigating, police reported, officers came upon the accused.
Police reported the accused refused to identify himself when officers were trying to issue an infraction. Police reported the accused was advised that he needed to give the proper information and that if he didn’t comply he would be arrested. Police reported the accused refused multiple times and became belligerent causing a scene. At this time, police reported, officers went to take the accused into custody. Police reported the accused failed to comply and was resistant, but was eventually taken into custody. The accused was released on a $5,000 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Oct. 9.

Darin Robert Meder, 50, of 97 Mulberry Point Road, Guilford, was charged Sept. 27 with illegal operation of motor vehicle without ignition device.

Police reported on Sept. 27 at approximately 6:59 p.m. an officer initiated a motor vehicle investigation in the area of Elm Street at Spencer Street. Through the officer’s investigation, police reported, the accused was found to be operating a motor vehicle without an ignition device, and with no insurance or valid marker plate. The accused was released on a promise to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Oct. 10.

Remi W. Sanfanandre, 27, of 59 Painter Ridge Road, Washington, was charged Sept. 28 with illegal possession of narcotic.

Police reported on Sept. 28 at approximately 2:15 a.m. officers were on proactive patrol at the Naugatuck Motor Lodge, 732 New Haven Road, in a high crime area where known narcotic activity consisting of illegal possession as well as illegal sale are being conducted. Through the officer’s investigation, police reported, they found a vehicle occupied in the lot involved in suspicious activity. Police reported the accused was found in the vehicle and in illegal possession of a narcotic. The accused was released on a $1,000 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Oct. 9.

Sean Anthony Jackson, 30, of 89 Giles St., Waterbury, was charged Sept. 28 with possession of controlled substance or more than half ounce of cannabis.

Police reported on Sept. 28 at approximately 3:03 p.m. an officer initiated a motor vehicle investigation in the area of Conrad Street by Field Street. Through the officer’s investigation, police reported, the accused was found to be in possession of a controlled substance. The accused was held on a remand to actual custody order from parole and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Sept. 30.

Leslie Scott, 47, of 81 Nancy Lane, Naugatuck, was charged Sept. 28 with four counts of third-degree forgery and four counts of sixth-degree larceny.

Police reported on Sept. 28 the accused was arrested on an active arrest warrant. Police reported the warrant was from a fraud incident where the accused forged multiple checks for various amounts and dates. The accused was released on a $5,000 surety bond to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Oct. 9.

Drew Larowe, 30, of 520 Highland Ave., Waterbury, was charged Sept. 29 with second-degree breach of peace, risk of injury to child and reckless driving.

Police reported on Sept. 29 at approximately 8:49 p.m. officers responded to a report of a domestic dispute that occurred at an undisclosed location. Police reported it was discovered through the investigation that the accused became involved in an argument with the victim that escalated and became physical when, according to the victim, the accused fought with the victim over a cell phone, and the victim was struck several times. The accused was released on a $10,000 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Sept. 30.

Jennifer Luisi, 36, of 55 Paul Heights, Southington, was charged Sept. 26 with second-degree breach of peace and violation of restraining order.

Jose Luis Ortiz, 41, of 70 Church St. Apt. D6, Canaan, was charged Sept. 27 with illegal operation of motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.
