Naugatuck police recently filed the following charges:

Kwame D. Stevens, 30, 387 Willow St. Apt. N2C, Waterbury, was charged Aug. 26 with fifth-degree larceny and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Police reported on Aug. 26 officers were dispatched to Walmart, 1100 New Haven Road, on a report of a shoplifting from the store. Police reported loss prevention advised that they observed the accused illegally conceal $575.12 worth of merchandise and exit the store without paying for items. Police reported the accused was also in possession of drug paraphernalia. The accused was held on a $5,000 surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Sept. 11.

Rashawn Cliffton Holley, 25, of 45 Baldwin St., Waterbury, was charged Aug. 26 with interfering with an officer/resisting, conspiracy to commit fifth-degree larceny and three counts of first-degree failure to appear.

Police reported on Aug. 26 officers were dispatched to Walmart, 1100 New Haven Road, on a report of a shoplifting from the store. Police reported loss prevention advised that they observed the accused illegally conceal $575.12 worth of merchandise and exit the store without paying for items. Police reported the accused was also arrested on active failure to appear (PRAWN) arrest warrants. The accused was held on bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Aug. 26.

Tatianna Denis, 19, of 261 Sunnyside Ave., Oakville, was charged Aug. 26 with conspiracy to commit fifth-degree larceny.

Police reported on Aug. 26 officers were dispatched to Walmart, 1100 New Haven Road, on a report of a shoplifting from the store. The accused was released on a $500 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Sept. 11.

Ernest Edward Gatison, 40, of 86 Carroll St., Naugatuck, was charged Aug. 26 with two counts of violation of probation.

Police reported on Aug. 26 the accused was arrested on probation violations. The accused was released on bond and scheduled to appear in Derby Superior Court on Sept. 5.

Joshua Thomas Bergin, 34, of 436 Fairfield Ave., Waterbury, was charged Aug. 26 with third-degree criminal mischief, reckless driving and second-degree reckless endangerment.

Police reported on Aug. 26 the accused was arrested at Waterbury Superior Court on an active arrest warrant. The warrant contained multiple charges from an incident that was reported to the Naugatuck Police Department on Dec. 16, 2018. The accused was held to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Aug. 26.

Linda Irene Mortagua, 28, of 36 Arch St., Naugatuck, was charged Aug. 27 with illegal operation of motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol/drugs and evading responsibility-injury/property damage.

Police reported on Aug. 27 at approximately 1:06 a.m. officers were dispatched to a evading a motor vehicle accident complaint in the area of Arch Street at Scott Street. Through the officers’ investigation, police reported, the accused was found to be operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol and or drugs and evading a motor vehicle accident after leaving the scene. The accused also failed to drive in the proper lane. The accused was released on $500 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Sept. 5.

Mantarius Hall, 31, of 16 Green St., Waterbury, was charged Aug. 27 with sixth-degree larceny, second-degree strangulation, disorderly conduct and two counts of third-degree assault.

Police reported on Aug. 27 the accused was arrested on active arrest warrants. Police reported one warrant was from a larceny incident that was reported to the Naugatuck Police Department on July 16, 2019. Police reported one warrant was from a domestic incident that was reported to the Naugatuck Police Department on July 27, 2019. The accused was held on bond to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Aug. 27.

Natajah Lincoln-McClain, 24, of 416 Bond St. 16, Bridgeport, was charged Aug. 27 with disorderly conduct.

Police reported on Aug. 27 officers were dispatched to a domestic disturbance. Through the officers’ investigation, police reported, the accused was at the victim’s residence causing a disturbance. During the disturbance, police reported, the victim stated the accused pushed an air conditioner through a window and threatened to hit the victim with a rock. The accused was held on a $500 surety bond to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Aug. 28.

Arthur M. McPherson, 37, of 655 Fitch St. Apt. D8, Hamden, was charged Aug. 27 with third-degree assault and disorderly conduct.

Police reported on Aug. 27 officers were dispatched to a domestic disturbance. Through the officers’ investigation, police reported, it was determined that the argument started out verbal and escalated into a physical altercation according to the victim. The accused was held on a $5,000 surety bond to appear in Waterbury Superior Court Aug. 28.

Raimundo Donascimento, 37, of 23 Burritt Place, Naugatuck, was charged Aug. 27 with second-degree assault, evading responsibility-physical injury, illegal operation of motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol/drugs and reckless driving.

Police reported on Aug. 27 at approximately 7:41 p.m. officers were dispatched to an evading a motor vehicle accident with injuries that involved a pedestrian in the area of Elm Street and Spencer Street. Police reported officers were advised prior to arrival that the accused had fled the scene. Officers found the accused sometime later. Through the officers’ investigation, police reported, the accused was found to be operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol and or drugs and evading a motor vehicle accident after leaving the scene. Police reported the accused was also charged with assault for striking a pedestrian with his motor vehicle while recklessly driving. The accused was released on $5,000 surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Sept. 11.

Bruno Ferreira-Amorim, 28, of 62 Oak St., Naugatuck, was charged Aug. 28 with violation of probation.

Police reported on Aug. 28 the accused was arrested on a probation violation. The accused was released on a $10,000 surety bond and scheduled to appear at Waterbury Superior Court on Sept. 11.

Darien J. Hodges, 55, of 142 Enfield St., Hartford, was charged Aug. 28 with sixth-degree larceny and first-degree criminal trespass.

Police reported on Aug. 28 officers were dispatched to Walmart, 1100 New Haven Road, on a report of a shoplifting from the store. Police reported loss prevention advised that they observed the accused illegally conceal $36.39 worth of merchandise and exit the store without paying for items. The accused was released on $500 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Sept. 11.

Crystal L. Pignataro, 27, of 397 High St. Apt. 2, Naugatuck, was charged Aug. 28 with third-degree assault and disorderly conduct.

Police reported on Aug. 28 officers were dispatched to an undisclosed location for a domestic disturbance. Through the officers’ investigation, police reported, it was determined that the argument started out verbal and escalated into a physical altercation, when according to the victim, the accused punched the victim multiple times in the face. The accused was held on a $1,000 non-surety bond to appear in Waterbury Superior Court Aug. 29.

Paul Daisey, 55, of 47 Galpin St., Naugatuck, was charged Aug. 29 with possession of controlled substance or more than half ounce of cannabis.

Police reported on Aug. 29 at approximately 3:59 p.m. an officer initiated a motor vehicle investigation in the area of Maple Hill Road and Maple Street. Through the officer’s investigation, police reported, the accused was found to be operating a motor vehicle while in possession of a controlled substance. The accused was released on $500 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Sept. 11.

Linda Lee Paolino, 52, of 74 Earle Ave., Oakville, was charged Aug. 29 with fifth-degree larceny.

Police reported on Aug. 29 officers were dispatched to Walmart, 1100 New Haven Road, on a report of a shoplifting from the store. Police reported loss prevention advised that they observed the accused illegally conceal $735.53 worth of merchandise and exit the store without paying for items. The accused was held on a $5,000 surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Sept. 11.

Leroy T. Prajer, 54, of 5 Second St., Beacon Falls, was charged Aug. 29 with three counts of failure to respond to payable violation.

Police reported on Aug. 29 the accused was arrested on active failure to respond to an infraction arrest warrants. The accused was released on cash bonds and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Sept. 11.
