Naugatuck police recently filed the following charges:

David Garnett, 14 Prospect Mountain Road, Bantam, was charged Aug. 5 with second-degree failure to appear and two counts of violation of probation.

Police reported on Aug. 5 the accused was arrested on a failure to appear warrant and probation violations. The accused was held on bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Aug. 5.

David Roberts, 43, of 35 Waterbury Road, Naugatuck, was charged Aug. 5 with disorderly conduct.

Police reported on Aug. 5 the accused was arrested on an active arrest warrant. The accused was released on a $1,000 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Aug. 6.

Kyle Donjia, 29, of 94 Irving St., Naugatuck, was charged Aug. 5 with two counts of third-degree criminal mischief.

Police reported on Aug. 5 officers were dispatched to pick up the accused from the Whalley Avenue Correctional Facility due to the accused having an active arrest warrant out of this town. The accused was transported to the station for processing. The accused was released on a $2,500 surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Aug. 8.

Dillon F. Dias, 26, of 749 Woodtick Road, Waterbury, was charged Aug. 5 with violation of probation.

Police reported on Aug. 5 the accused was arrested on a probation violation. The accused was held on a $25,000 surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Aug. 6.

Jose Alexander Pizarro, 32, of 238 Wall St. Apt. 1FL, Waterbury, was charged Aug. 6 with illegal operation of motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol/drugs.

Police reported on Aug. 6 at approximately 8:46 p.m. an officer initiated a motor vehicle investigation in the area of 103 Elm St. Through the officer’s investigation, police reported, the accused was found to be operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and or drugs and with a suspended license. The accused was held on $10,000 surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Aug. 6.

Joseph Datelle Giampetruzzi, 44, of 448 Highland Drive, Waterbury, was charged Aug. 6 with first-degree failure to appear, sixth-degree larceny and first-degree criminal trespass.

Police reported on Aug. 6 officers were dispatched to Walmart, 1100 New Haven Road, on a report of a shoplifting from the store. Police reported loss prevention advised that they observed the accused illegally conceal $42.74 worth of items and exit the store without paying for them. Police reported this is the third time the accused has been charged with stealing from Walmart. The accused was released on a $500 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Aug. 21.

Police reported the accused was also arrested on a failure to appear warrant. The accused was held on a $10,000 surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Aug. 6.

Sharanda Gilliard, 23, of 222 Bradley Ave. Apt. B3 8, Waterbury, was charged Aug. 6 with fifth-degree larceny.

Police reported on Aug. 6 the accused was arrested on an active arrest warrant. The warrant was from a larceny incident that was reported to Naugatuck police on June 28, 2019. Police reported the accused stole an item from the victim. The accused was released on a $2,500 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Aug. 21.

Thomas Joseph Russell, 35, of 341 Spring St., Naugatuck, was charged Aug. 7 with disorderly conduct.

Police reported on Aug. 7 officers were dispatched to a residence on a domestic disturbance. Police reported the accused became involved in an argument with the victim that escalated when the accused broke a door off the frame trying to get at the victim. The accused was released on a $5,000 non-surety bond to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Aug. 7.

Abou Kante, 28, of 214 Union City Road, Naugatuck, was charged Aug. 7 with two counts of third-degree forgery.

Police reported on Aug. 7 the accused was arrested on an active arrest warrant while in custody at Waterbury Superior Court. The warrant was from a forgery incident reported to the Naugatuck Police Department on May 19, 2019. The accused was held to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Aug. 7.

Nathaniel Magazine, 54, of 67 Walnut Ave., Waterbury, was charged Aug. 7 with sixth-degree larceny and conspiracy to commit sixth-degree larceny.

Police reported on Aug. 7 the accused was arrested on an active arrest warrant while in custody at Waterbury Superior Court. The warrant was from a larceny incident reported to the Naugatuck Police Department on April 18, 2019. The accused was held to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Aug. 7.

Paul Joseph Frawley, 43, of 126 Triangle St. Apt. A38, Danbury, was charged Aug. 7 with second-degree threatening.

Police reported on Aug. 7 the accused was arrested on an active arrest warrant. The warrant was from a domestic incident reported to the Naugatuck Police Department on July 13, 2019. The accused was held on a $10,000 surety bond to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Aug. 8.

Jacqueline Nicole Idlet, 37, of 44 Linden St., Waterbury, was charged Aug. 7 with sixth-degree larceny.

Police reported on Aug. 7 officers were dispatched to Walmart, 1100 New Haven Road, on a report of a shoplifting from the store. Police reported loss prevention advised that they observed the accused conceal merchandise totaling less than $500 and exit the store without paying for items. The accused was released on a $1,000 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Aug. 21.

Jessie Cruz, 42, of 360 High St. Apt. 1FL, Naugatuck, was charged Aug. 8 with disorderly conduct.

Police reported on Aug. 8 officers were dispatched to a residence on a domestic disturbance. Police reported the accused was intoxicated upon arrival. Police reported the accused became involved in an argument with the victim that escalated. The accused was released on a $5,000 non-surety bond to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Aug. 8.

Jose Rivera, 47, of 522 Grant St., Camden, N.J., was charged Aug. 8 with reckless driving.

Police reported on Aug. 8 the accused was arrested and processed at Waterbury Superior Court on an active arrest warrant. The warrant stemmed from an incident on Dec. 26, 2018 where Waterbury police pursued the accused into Naugatuck after he allegedly robbed a beauty salon in Waterbury at gunpoint. Police reported the accused collided with Waterbury Police Department cruisers during the pursuit on Cross Street in Naugatuck and was apprehended by Waterbury officers on New Haven Road. The accused was given a court date of Aug. 8 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and held pending his arraignment.

John Cirasuolo, 55, of 284 Church St. Apt. 1, Naugatuck, was charged Aug. 8 with illegal operation of motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol/drugs, engaging police in a pursuit, reckless driving and evading responsibility-physical injury.

Police reported on Aug. 8 officers were dispatched to an evading motor vehicle accident on Route 63 near the intersection with South Main Street. Police reported officers located the accused entering Route 8 South with the assistance of witnesses. Police reported the accused refused to stop for officers until reaching exit 24. Through further investigation, police reported, officers determined the accused was under the influence of alcohol and in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. The accused was released on a $5,000 surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Aug. 22.

Michael Rodgers, 56, of 46 Mulberry St., Naugatuck, was charged Aug. 9 with second-degree failure to appear.

Police reported on Aug. 9 at 2 p.m. the accused turned himself in on an active PRAWN arrest warrant for failing to appear in court. The accused was released on a court-set $5,000 surety bond and assigned a court date of Aug. 21 at Waterbury Superior Court.

Amy Leigh Capozzi, 34, of 950 Baldwin St., Waterbury, was charged Aug. 9 with first-degree failure to appear.

Police reported on Aug. 9 bail enforcement officers turned the accused in on an active PRAWN arrest warrant for failing to appear in court. The accused was released on a court-set $5,000 surety bond and assigned court date of Aug. 23 at Derby Superior Court.

Angel Arocho, 34, of 133 South St., Waterbury, was charged Aug. 9 with sixth-degree larceny.

Police reported on Aug. 9 at 6:21 p.m. officers were dispatched to Wal-Mart, 1100 New Haven Road, for a shoplifting complaint. Police reported Wal-Mart’s loss prevention apprehended the accused. The accused was released on a $500 non-surety bond and assigned a court date of Aug. 21 at Waterbury Superior Court.

Sarah Bella Marini, 23, of 225 Wakelee Ave., Ansonia, was charged Aug. 9 with sixth-degree larceny.

Police reported on Aug. 9 at 11:29 p.m. officers were dispatched to Wal-Mart, 1100 New Haven Road, for a shoplifting complaint. Police reported Wal-Mart’s loss prevention apprehended the accused for attempting to steal approximately $37 worth of merchandise including air fresheners and jewelry. The accused was released on a promise to appear and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Aug. 21.

Okeroghene Godwin Okifo, 26, of 33 Wisteria Drive, Naugatuck, was charged Aug. 10 with second-degree failure to appear.

Police reported on Aug. 10 at 9:25 p.m. during a motor vehicle investigation officers determined the accused had an active PRAWN arrest warrant for failure to appear in court. The accused was released on a court-set $1,000 surety bond and assigned a court date of Aug. 21 at Waterbury Superior Court.

Jonathan Robert Syman, 22, of 2 Harvest Lane, Naugatuck, was charged Aug. 11 with second-degree breach of peace, third-degree assault, interfering with an officer/resisting and violation of protective order.

Police reported on Aug. 11 at 1 a.m. officers were dispatched to the Ion Bank parking lot at 87 Church St. for a 911 hang-up. Police reported officers located the accused in a vehicle with the female victim who was distraught and appeared to be in pain. Police reported the accused attempted to prevent officers from speaking with the victim, who told officers the accused punched her in the ribs during an argument after leaving 66 Church. Police reported the accused then fled the scene, engaging officers in a foot pursuit. The accused was apprehended a short distance away on Church Street. Through officers’ investigation it was determined the accused was in violation of an active protective order, police reported. The accused was released after posting a $25,000 surety bond and assigned a court date of Aug. 12 at Waterbury Superior Court.

Andrew R. Mendillo, 43, of 81 Hackett St., Naugatuck, was charged Aug. 11 with possession of controlled substance, sale of certain illegal drug and non-student in possession of drugs near a school or day care.

Police reported on Aug. 11 an officer observed a drug transaction on Rubber Avenue near the intersection with Meadow Street where the accused sold heroin to another male. Police reported officer conducted a motor vehicle stop of the accused on Division Street and located a small amount of drugs and large amount of cash inside the vehicle. The accused was released on a $25,000 surety bond and assigned a court date of Aug. 28 at Waterbury Superior Court.

Lance Thomas Lydem, 34, of 305 Buckingham St., Oakville, was charged Aug. 11 with illegal operation of motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol/drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Police reported on Aug. 11 at 2:53 p.m. officers were dispatched to Big Y at 85 Bridge St. for a male party appearing intoxicated sitting in the driver seat of his vehicle. Through the officer’s investigation, police reported, it was determined the accused was operating his vehicle under the influence of alcohol/drugs. Police reported the accused was also found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia. The accused was released on a promise to appear with a court date of Aug 28 at Waterbury Superior Court.

Joseph Yurksaitis, 50, of 5 Arch St. 1Fl., Naugatuck, was charged Aug. 11 with possession of controlled substance.

Police reported on Aug. 11 an officer observed a drug transaction on Rubber Avenue near the intersection with Meadow Street where the accused approached a vehicle and purchased heroin from another male. Police reported officers stopped the accused at Cumberland Farms and located a small amount of heroin on his person. The accused was released on a $2,500 non-surety bond and assigned a court date of Aug. 28 at Waterbury Superior Court.
